The Norwegian Sky is a small ship and you feel it. There was not enough staff and way too many passengers. Every place felt crowded. We had a good time but it definitely was not our favorite, and we'll never go on Sky again. Not a big fan of the layout. Not enough to do. Food was blah at best. Drinks were hit or miss IF you could get one. Staff was friendly. Shows were good. Loved Key West!

No problems here, but my advice s don't get an early check in time. It doesn't do you any good.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
I was very disappointed in the food this time, and getting a drink at a bar was nearly impossible. They had one guy working a bar with tons of people standing around waiting.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Too much downtime between activities. Activities were not held when they were supposed to be held. Pool was way too crowded and no shade. Not enough activities. The app did not match the freestyle. Rooms were double booked leaving passengers with no idea of where to go.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows were all fabulous. The magician and the comedian were fantastic. The last show with the dancers and singers was entertaining.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Not completely their fault as there was not enough staff on this boat, especially bar staff. Took forever to get our wine with dinner.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
You can definitely tell this is an older ship. Rooms are tiny, bathrooms even smaller. You can tell they updated the ship in the common areas and it looked nice. We didn't love the layout as there was not a great outside meeting area for the parties at night. As a result they crammed you in the Bliss lounge and played the music way too loud. I mean WAY TOO LOUD!
Cabin / Stateroom

It was fine. Small and needs updating in the bathroom.
Such a charming city. We had brunch at a darling restaurant, and then got the famous key lime pie. We also went to the Hemingway House. We debated paying the fee to go in, but so happy we did. Take the tour. That part is free and so interesting. OH! And the pina colada from the first legal rum distillery is a must do!
You perfectly described my recent experience with Norwegian Sky. Except that on top of everything my stateroom didn’t have hot water and the guy responsible for the cabin entered my room twice with the “don’t disturb sign” outside. I’m a woman traveling alone and felt it like abuse especially because I spent most of the day out so there was no reason for him to barge exactly on the few times I was inside the cabin.
Thanks for a great review, very well detailed. Sadly, your observations are like the standard for the NCL/Sky. Average at best. Fun itinerary, but The SKY makes the experience mediocre. NCL just doesn’t get it. They can do so much better. I guess they don’t care about the lackluster feedback. That cruise can be so much fun!! Thanks for sharing & happy cruising
🤩⚓️😎❣️‼️
Thanks for sharing your experience. I agree this ship is very small as I had experienced the same feeling. Don't judge NCL by this ship alone. Give a try on the bigger class, and you will be amazed. Yes, staff shortage has been an issue no matter the class of ship.
