Review summary

This is the worst cruise line to choose for your vacation. I booked a cruise for me and my wife and they had what they call "free at see" which is not free at all! they charged us $654 for gratuities and on top of that they add another $600 without telling you when paying for the cruise under service charge, this charge only shows after you get your cruise confirmation and doesn't show when booking the cruise so you are left with no option. Their customer service is also very rude over the phone, they don't provide any details or information regarding what's actually included in the trip and all they care about is to get you to pay, pay and pay. I would not recommend Norwegian to anyone. All other cruise lines are very descriptive when listing any additional charges or fees, I guess no one learns for free.

I was on the Sky ladt November and had a great time and I thought the ship looked great and kept up well considering her age. As for your complaint, well, that's 100% on you fir not paying attention to your cruise documents and gratuities charges. You still pay gratuities on your drink package and dining package. You are also charged $20 a day for each person in cabin for each day of cruise. Either this is your first cruise and you failed to read ALL your cruise documents or you are someone who likes to complain about nothing. Either way, maybe cruising isn't for you.

While I agree that NCL/Sky would not be my #1 choice when booking a cruise bc she’s so dated & needs to go to dry dock for upgrades, in terms of NCL, I have first hand experience when calling customer service to have been respectful, courteous & super helpful. I have cruised w/ NCL over 12 years. I have booked directly thru their agents, online & w/ my dedicated travel consultants. I have even booked & cancelled cruises with full refund, bc I read the fine print & asked 100 questions. Ask your questions, and when the answer sounds weird request to speak to a Supervisor or Manager. All calls recorded & discrepancies can easily be disputed. If that fails, place a formal complaint with that or any other cruiseline. Sorry to hear about your cruising experience. Good luck on your next. Happy cruising 🤩⚓️😎❣️‼️

On every cruise you paid gratitude doesn't matter cruise line that is split between the room person and everyone else on the ship

You should've read the fine print - you still have to pay gratuities and fees, even with "free at sea!" That is your fault for not paying attention, not the cruise line's.
