Review summary

Our first cruise was so much FUN and a great success. This trip was with 38 people from our resort in Texas and really added to the Fun. We are already making plans with other friends to go on a cruise.... just need to decide which ship and if we want to go this coming Fall or next Spring. Will probably be another Carribean cruise. Curious... if we all four book together at the same time in which cruisers #3 and #4 get a special or "free" trip (just paying taxes and fees)... does that mean they would share a room with us or would they get their own room?

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was very organized and went smoothly. We were so glad being first timers not having a clue of the process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We were surprised how elegant the Main dining rooms were. The food was pretty much the same as in the specialty restaurants. The buffets were great for when we were in a hurry.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Being first timers we were hoping to go swimming on the ship. The Prima is not the best choice for this. Other than some small infinity pools and hot tubs there was only one Main pool and it was rather small. Not an important detail if pools are not a priority. There are many lounge chairs though and quite easy to use.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The main theater is quite large and perfect for shows and dancing. The very comfortable seating folds up completely leaving a huge dance floor. The smaller venues for entertaining were a bit disappointing. They call them "intimate settings" if you want a seat, be prepared to wait in line up to an hour before a show.... otherwise it is standing room only for up to 50 people without seats.

Children's Programs

No kids in our group of 38 adults from our retirement resort.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was excellent.... especially in ALL the dining rooms. One of the sales people in the Pandora could use training on being more friendly but otherwise ALL the staff were great.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Again... being 1st time cruisers, we have nothing to compare with. Our rooms were always clean and our room steward was always very cheerful and hard working. All areas of the ship were very well maintained. Due to the salt water spray it is probably normal to have spotting on outside glass surfaces.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was great. Loved the balcony. Bathroom is a good size. Shower is excellent. Was hoping for a towel animal though.... that would have made that special touch.

Ship tip

Again... being a 1st timer.... we continued to get lost.... even after a week. Getting off the elevators always seemed like the 1st time for that on many occasions.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
You get to chose your own color tag (there are many colors) on which time YOU choose to disembark the ship. This makes it SO easy to find your luggage in the huge warehouse here you pick up your luggage in your own color coded area. Be careful though... others may have the same exact luggage you have. Someone in our group took someone else's luggage home on the bus with them.

Traveler Photos

View from JUNGLE TOP ANIMAL PARK (5 minute walk from dock and very inexpensive zoo (including sloths and monkeys) with 16 zip lines).
