Review summary

The Pearl is a lovely ship meticulously maintained. Our only slight disappointment was in some of the food offerings. La Cucina was absolutely not up to NCL's usual standards and we found most of the dishes in the main dining room were just too heavily spiced for those of us who prefer milder fare. My Thanksgiving turkey dinner was the worst meal I have had on any NCL ship. Cagney's, as usual, was fantastic.

Arrived at about 11:30am and did not get on the ship until 1:30pm due to the security line being closed for about an hour. Once opened there as only one line for all of us.

We only attended the two production shows and both were excellent. The show featuring the impersonators was excellent--felt I was actually seeing Michael Jackson.

Cabin / Stateroom

Although at first we felt the cabin was small, we soon found it had everything we needed and more than enough space for our things. Our cabin steward Quinn was phenomenol. He kept our cabin in perfect shape and produced the first full-sized towel alligator I have ever seen. It filled the entire bed!!

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

Although we did not tour the city, e did enjoy the evening before the sailing there and had a great Cuban meal at La Teresita. Getting to and from the port was very convenient.

Cozumel, Mexico

Took the Jose Cuervo excursion which was beyond our expectations and a huge value for the money we spent.

Harvest Caye, Belize

Did the Mayan Ruins and Spice Farm--both sites excellent and very informative. Highly recommend that tour.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Any time you can have gorgeous parrots and capuchin monkeys playing with you and posing for great photos it is a good day. The tour to Gumbalimba Preserve wqs worth every penny.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

This tour was good, but after the first three phenomenal ones our standards were a bit high. But it did have the full temples for us to view and climb whereas the ones in Belize were more foundations, stelae and tombs. The two tours complimented each other so what one missed the other had for a total Mayan experience.
