Review summary

All in all , for our first cruise we enjoyed it. Food was good, except for Cagney's steakhouse, which was excellent! Drinks were enjoyable. O'Sheenan's was another good food and beverage spot. Best drink: Bushwhackers! The atrium bar had the best Pain Killer drink! For relaxing purposes, the Spa was the place to go. The entertainment was good in the Atrium bar area, Martini bar area (piano bar) and the outdoor entertainment poolside was good as well.

Embarkation

Total Chaos! Very unorganized. Not enough porters to handle bags.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The Garden Palace buffet was good. Cagney's steakhouse was SUPERB! From excellent service to great steaks. Summer Palace was very nice and the food was very good. The Italian specialty restaurant was like eating at the Olive Garden, nothing special. Very slow service. People were actually walking out because of slow service.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We really enjoyed the Fitness center. Purchased the offered Spa package that we used 5 out of the 8 days. Really worth it. Pool was ok. Didn't do the rock climbing wall.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Stage shows were very enjoyable. The show Impersonators was really good. Enjoyed the comedian on both nights, one show for all ages and one show for adults, although the adult version wasn't all that bad. The piano bar musician was terrific (sorry the bald head guy, can't remember his name). Missed Jazz night at the piano bar, but walking by going to dinner, heard them playing and it sounded really good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone that we interacted with was very nice and professional. The bartenders were very good.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Even though the ship was re-furbished in 2017, really couldn't tell what was done.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Since the ship was re-furbished in 2017, we expected the beds to be much more comfortable, as well as the pillows. The sink in the bathroom had spider cracks in the bowl. Not sure the issue there. On a positive note, the water pressure was great! Always had hot water. Balcony had ample room to sit outside and take in the views. Space was ample to put away all clothes and place 3 suitcases under the bed.

Ship tip

Make sure you get a beverage package if you enjoy more than 3 drinks a day.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

Extremely too congested. No directional signs to direct you accordingly.

Cozumel, Mexico

Tourist trap. Huge shopping mall. Ok, so they did have bars as well (ie. Senor Frogs). We enjoyed a couple of rounds before returning to the ship

Harvest Caye, Belize

Beach sand was very course. Swim up bar was not so great. It rained on our visit. Another shopping port.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Don't bother getting off the ship!

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Best port we enjoyed. Definitely do the excursion: swim with the dolphins. Entertainment abound as you walk around the varied shops. Best part, the shop workers/owners didn't hound you to make a purchase. Plenty of opportunities to take all kinds of pictures. Clean and nice pool area.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Takes about 45mins to disembark. Secret, leave your bags for the room porters to take instead of pulling them with you during disembarking.
