Review summary

Beautiful cruise to Alaska! We were blessed with sun every day which is not normal for this cruise! We are an active couple (45 & 50 years) so our time on the ship got boring after a while. 5 days would have been fine. You know that when the game room & library are packed that the ship needs more activities.

Super Fast!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The drinks were heavy on the alcohol, almost undrinkable. After 2 days...I requested light alcohol whenever I ordered & they did a great job. Buffet had lots of variety but it was always crowded....not my favorite layout. Dining room food was good but nothing to write home about. Not much variety. Teppenyaki Restaurant was superior in every way!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
It's an Alaskan cruise. No one was hanging out on deck enjoying the 60'ish degree sunshine with an ocean "breeze". Indoors was crowded. The fitness Center was always packed. I got a manicure. I've had better. We went to an auction & thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There truly wasn't enough activities on board and we got bored after 5 days.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Stage shows were amazing. Tim Zaminski, the comedian was the best! He was all over the ship entertaining!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
These people don't get paid enough for their superior service!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
My favorite ship in regards to design. No cheesy decor like most shops. My least favorite layout. There wasn't really enough spaces for activities/entertainment. While there were grills outside, the main buffet was in one area instead of spread out. It was like a cafeteria.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved it! If you're cruising Alaska a balcony room is a must! Porpoises, whales, orcas & beautiful scenery from my balcony! Comfortable room.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Juneau, Alaska

We did the Mendenhall Glacier & Salmon Bake. Beautiful views and the salmon bake is a must! The best salmon I've ever had & I'm from Oregon!

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Adorable port! Did the ocean rafting...18 bald eagles were sighted!

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
If you see Ulu knives...wait to get them in Ketchikan! Far cheaper than the other ports for the exact same knife!

Victoria, British Columbia

Beautiful city! Ziplining was phenomenal & the guides were informative & entertaining!

we took a 5 day cruise on the pearl lasr year and it was perdext. we were somewhat board but we were in the Caribbeanand just sat on the sun deck in the afternoon and eaely evenings and read. i agree the evwnings were pretty boaring compared to bigger ships.. the shows were a jome so we never went back to any after the foest show but we made the best od it. we just tried to have a little later dinner and make the dinners last lo ger so the eve was a busier night for us the ship was nicelydone for its okder age and we felt the staff was very friendly and helpful! but... a cruise no matter where or what ship is better then being on main land lololol happy cruising!!!
