A great cruise!

Sail Date: November 30, 2007

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

My husband and I have numerous cruises behind us (his 86th) and my (41st) and we truly enjoyed our time on the Pearl --- we chose the Pearl for the ports of call and for the freestyle dining. The entertainment (production shows) rate right up there with Las Vegas style revues --- bravo to the Jean Ann Ryan Company! We did miss the 2 for 1 early dinner special rates in the specialty restaurants as we experienced on other Norwegian ships. Embarkation and Disembarkation was very smooth and effortless -- another plus! Overall a "GREAT" cruise for the price you pay.

Pros: Freestyle Dining

Cons: Nothing

Recommends Norwegian Pearl? Yes!

Castries, St. Lucia
Any beach --- particularly Rodney Bay
Don't Miss: Sailing pass the Pitons or a visit to the Baths

Cayo Levantado (Samana), Dominican Republic
The beach at Cayo Levantado was very good --- but the tender ride provided by the tour group needs to be inspected --- open boat holding approx 40 people ---not enought life jackets for all and most of the life jackets were children sizes
Road Town, Tortola, B.V.I.
Have been to this port numerous times but this time wanted to take a city tour and botantical gardens tour ---- the city tour part was very brief with not much to see and the botantical gardens displayed mostly trees and plants not much in the way of flowers or other flora
Don't Miss: Opt for a beach tour
Bridgetown, Barbados
South Coast Beach Break Tour --- A 30-40 bus ride to Dover Beach on the south side of the island ---- beautiful beach, chair included in tour price (if you need an umbrella its $10.00), and a complimentary beverage --- restaurants and shops near beach for browsing/shopping.
Don't Miss: Harrison Caves (closed until January 2008 for maintenance work)
St. John's, Antigua
We went on our own to Runaway Beach (a ten minute taxi ride from the pier) $3.00 per person each way -- and the driver will come back to pick you up at whatever time you specify! Restaurant/Bar on premise, changing facilities, chairs and umbrellas for rent (2 chairs and 1 umbrella is $15.00) -- a great day at the beach!
