Review summary
Beautiful ship..with a few exceptions service was not good. Overall the crew seemed very sad. It was as if we were a bother to them. The food was really a disappointment. It was pretty good in the speacialty resturants where they charged a cover, but the buffet and main dining were poor. Maybe thats how they drive you to pay for the speacialty resturants. The whole freestyle thing was overated and misrepresented. Resvervations were difficult to make & many other eating areas were closed early. It was almost as if they were short staffed or at least mismanaged. As ususal on a cruise, the drinks were overpriced but that seems to be the norm. The excursion desk was very bad, poor information on tours and only open 2 hours daily 7-9 during dinner hours and they were unfriendly. On other cruises, we booked on the TV in our stateroom which was much easier. Many people on the ship had that virus and were sick most of the cruise. 2 in our group of six were sick. Disembarking was really unorganized and extremely slow, I'm sure they would blame customs. The one bright spot was our cabin stewards who were very nice. It was a great itinerary and the ports were diverse and fun. We made the best of it, but I could not recommend NCL for future trips.Ship experiences
