Another great cruise on the Joy. I loved these odd ball ports in Canada. And of course Quebec City is somthing for everyone to experience at least once.

Review summary

My 4th time on the Joy. First time in the Haven on the Joy. I enjoyed the Haven more on the smaller BREAKAWAY.

Embarkation

We had Haven Express check-in. But even if we hadn't I saw that the huge security line moved fast.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We thought this was the best food in the specialty restaurants in all our cruises. We ordered lots of full meals to our room from our butler. Those meals come from the Haven dinning room. Mother loved getting lobster tails and crab cakes. I'm usually very happy with the buffet on NCL this time it was mediocre. I was surprised the breakfast buffet didn't have a fried hash brown. I know some people don't like The Q or the idea of Bar-B-Q on a cruise it was once again my favorite meal on the ship.

Onboard Activities

Same old trivia and wierd game shows...folks if you get picked to be on stage don't try and be fuuny... just be normal and let the emcee play off that... it's better for everyone

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Ashlie Amber was the highlight of the cruise . She was the Witney Houston performer. I enjoyed The piano guy in the distrik brewhouse when he was playing songs seriously.

Service and Staff

shoutout to my steward Tomi and my butler Made.

Cabin / Stateroom

Great cabin. Haven Family Villa Sweet. Wow that king bed is so comfortable.

Ship tip

enjoy the observation lounge when they have entertainment there. If the weather is nice eat outside at the specialty restaurants.

Ports of call

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
on our last cruise we rented a car and went to Kennebunkport and loved it. This time we just walked the port and loved that. So much to see in walking distance.

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
Very crowded everywhere. We stayed on the ship after we had gotten our fill last time we were in Port at Boston. But what I did love is the ship was parked at the end of the airport runway. I watched planes including 2 double decker A380s land right in front of us. Watching the runway was a memory.

Quebec City, Quebec

5 out of 5
What an experience. Why don't more people talk about this city. It's like Gatlinburg on crack. streets and streets of tourists stuff.

La Baie, Quebec

the floatplanes and helicopters seemed very popular. We just walked to the historic car museum and a local pharmacy.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Great port. Lots of things to see in walking distance.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

Worlds largest Violin.

New York, New York

when you stay in Times Square the night before its such a quick ride to the Manhattan cruise port. A short distance in Manhattan is sometimes cheaper in Cab than a ride share and this is always the case when it's raining.

Disembarkation

you had 26 hours to disembark. We left at 4am for a 6:30 flight.
