Review summary

Norwegian is not a luxurious cruise line. But mostly good service, clean accommodations and the ports we wanted to see.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
3 couples traveling together, 3 different embarkation experiences. Some good, some not so good.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room food was fair to poor. Main dining room NOT open for breakfast so forced to go to the crowded buffet or try to get a table for 6 in the smaller venues...and they close at 9am, so don't sleep in too long. Buffet was...buffet. But again, breakfast service stopped & buffet closed at 1030am while they did lunch set up.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Spa was nice but they did not have the quiet waiting area with music & lemon water... relax here a bit while we get you checked in... you're sitting in their lobby with people coming & going, the go karts were fun for the guys!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Elements production... weird. Beatles were a big hit (!!) But most night they were in such a small venue you could never get a seat. The Mighty Quinn was GREAT!

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
We had one great server that we saw several days in the Local (looked like Yul Brenner) but other than that we never had the same server twice. Our room steward (Shaik) kept our room neat & clean!

Ship Quality

Clean & well maintained! Layout... meh. Too many small eating venues that we had to use because main DR not open & the Cavern... ridiculously small for seating for Beatles music shows.

Cabin / Stateroom

Bathroom size was amazing!! Full size shower - wow!! Room at the sink for 2!!

Ports of call

Boston, Massachusetts

Beautiful historic city with LOUSY excursion options. Couldn't see any of those historic stops because the tour was on a full size bus that could only briefly pass by (quick! Look up the street...now....oh, that the was steeple of the North Church)

Portland, Maine

Great tour guide with tons of history & lovely lighthouses

Sydney, Nova Scotia

Lovely little island. A G Bell museum was okay...but self guided... a tour guide talking & explaining would have been nicer.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Pretty little town. Did a walking Savor the Flavor... meh. Guides were good but very limited info about the town & history.

La Baie, Quebec

Great experiences just getting off the ship, lots of performers there to welcome. It was great! Beautiful little town,, enjoyed the bus tour, stops & info given.

Quebec City, Quebec

5 out of 5
A great stop! So much to see! The old part of the city was fun to walk & could have stayed longer...maybe eaten at one of the quaint restaurants. Drive around Orleans island was beautiful, lunch stop was... okay. Crowded at 2 tables, could have spread out the group at smaller tables, less school lunchroom atmosphere. Saw lots of places in 7.5 hours. But could have spent more time at some of them... no time to go up the cable car or to walk to the bottom of the falls.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
A little chaotic as we had one of our group of 6 that needed a wheelchair so that couple were taken directly to tour bus while the rest of us waited in line... then when we got thru...we find they are on one tour bus but weren't allowed to say seats for us, or if we'd been just a little further back in line, they'd have gone on one bus & we'd have been on another.
