Review summary

Too many people for too few activities, slow service, and disaster getting on and off. Would not do NCL as a result again, pity at ship clean, food very good (even if took two hours to be served meal each time), and staff helpful. Senior leadership failure which I doubt will be fixed.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Disaster. Systems broke down took three hours standing in line. No apology from NCL.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Food excellent, dining rooms pretty, fairly easy to get seated if went very early. However, plan on two hours as service was incredibly slow. If you were served wrong food or drink did not arrive ask for help and any response took 30 minutes.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Everything was over packed, but there were quiet areas to relax.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
90% of entertainment was fully booked after day one. After complaints added one additional show. Attended cooking demonstrations, only two offered and one was showing how they flip eggs, no lessons there. Attending class on dancing, was suppose to be hour, lasted 15 minutes. Much of what was offered was overpacked and run 50% as long as planned. Cruise Director only seen once, I think this was a management failure. Acts were good.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Ship kept very clean and neat, Cabin Steward did the basics well. Problems were not staff but planning and leadership.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Excellent, could use one more theater to offer more entertainment.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Great cabin, seems a little smaller than other cruise lines but well designed

Ship tip

Schedule all the available activities before you get there, bring a chair for embarkation, and ignore lack of instructions exiting and get off first.

Ports of call

New York, New York

3 out of 5
View leaving/coming back highlight of trip.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

4 out of 5
Easy to get on and off, clean port in beautiful setting.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
2 hours late to port, told us they would announce departure by colors. Never made any announcements except to wait. THEN announce everyone gets off after waiting two hours. Total zoo of everyone leaving at once, people fell down stairs in rush. What should have taken normally a half hour was disaster. No apology again.
