Amazing ship with so much to do and see, but the staff is what made the cruise most enjoyable.

Review summary

In my humble opinion (only being on 2 cruises) I feel that the cruise was very organized, the staff always did their best to entertain us and make us feel welcome, and I would not hesitate to take another trip with Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Manhattan’s seemed like a specialty restaurant because of the excellent food and service and was surprised that it was one of the complimentary dining rooms. The Local was aways available as a good meeting place for appetizers and drinks when we wanted to take a break from the sun, The Observatory deck was a beautiful quiet place to have morning coffee, watch the ship as it headed into ports

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Fitness Center always had cardio equipment available. The area had minimal space for mats for yoga and stretching, but I always found space. The cool damp towels are such a nice touch.

Entertainment

Loved how professional the Footloose/Elements dancers were. The production crew also deserve credit for the quick changes, lighting, etc

Amazing!! 5 Star quality ! The staff took pride in their work and made us feel so welcome everywhere we went.

Ship Quality

Unbelievably clean. Staff were always tidying up and cleaning hi-touch surfaces. Although the ship was at maximal capacity, we were still able to find intimate areas to enjoy the ship, especially the Waterfront and Conservatory.

Cabin / Stateroom

The window was extra large and provided a view similar view to the captain’s deck. We were one flight below and to the right. Plenty of space for 2, with many cabinets, a fridge, various task lighting with usb ports on either side of bed.

Ship tip

Visit the Observatory deck in the morning. Dine at Manhattan’s. Board early to book shows and specialty restaurants.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Stayed at Hollywood, Florida. Many restaurants and a long boardwalk to have a good run in the early morning

George Town, Grand Cayman

Beautiful beach. Hailed a taxi $7/person with 15 capacity to visit 7 Mile Beach. Driver provided some insight about the Island. Chose to walk back to ship by taking a long walk back on the beach until we got to hotels, then walked along Main Street.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

I found that the drivers and people offering tours were very aggressive to the point that we decided to walk around on our own. It was much more enjoyable and we stopped in a cafe to enjoy coffee with free wifi at PKDitos

Colon, Panama

Also aggressive drivers that made us choose to walk to the Duty Free Mall on our own. 10 minute walk and $5 cost to enter, but amazing deals on clothes, shoes, etc.

Cartagena, Colombia

Rented a taxi with Fernando for 4.5 hours. He loves his city and was an excellent tour guide. It was better than taking a bus because he was able to get around town in a smaller SUV, but still comfortable for 4 adults. He showed us an amazing view of the city from a mountain, drove to tourist attractions and provided info of additional costs. Finally, he maneuvered easily through Old Town and took us to a local grocery store to get local coffee at affordable prices rather than at the port.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Eagle Beach has amazing sand and beautiful water with no seaweed. The beach restaurant, Coco Loco had wifi that was available all along the beach.

Willemstad, Curacao

Walked to Mambo beach as we had strolled through town first and didn’t end up seeing a taxi. Locals were helpful to guide us to our final destination. Beach chairs were plentiful and attendants would come to you for payment. Plenty of fish swam by while we stood in the water waist deep.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
Plenty of seats, lots of waiters walking around to take drink orders as well as short lines at the bar. The buffet was tasty, with pork ribs, burgers, hot dogs, and salad and fruit.

Unfortunately, it took us 3.5 hours in line due to Customs. Our friends missed their flight. I had bought lounge tickets at FLL because I thought we would be waiting at the airport for hours. We only got to enjoy the lounge for 1.5 hrs. If I knew that, I would not have bought lounge tickets.
