Review summary

We had a great problem free cruise. The aftermath of a recent hurricane riled up the water on the first night and I now know personally what it was like to have been on the S.S. Minnow. I still scratch my head as to why they have to announce "code Alpha" throughout the ship at 2 AM, I don't think medical was wondering around near my room at that hour. Have fun, be safe.

Embarkation

We had no problem arriving at the ship although you would think that NCL would have arranged for a bus at the airport instead of using many 18 passenger shuttles. I feel bad for one family on the shuttle that left their passports at the airport. My guess is that they never made it on the boat.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Upon arriving we enjoyed a complementary meal at the American Diner. Best burger I've ever had. As for the other locations, the Haven Restaurant was great. The meals down on deck 7 were good but the steaks were not the best. Hint to NCL: stop serving such large portions. The burger at The Local Pub was close to a half pound, I ate it with a fork so I wouldn't pull a muscle.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Relaxation was my activity. Hot tubs were nice.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the main shows (somewhat). Note to self: take ear plugs next time. Very loud.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone did a great job as usual.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
If I were to design the ship, I would have included door latches on the inside doors so they wouldn't slide back and forth in 30 foot seas. It was kinda like a haunted mansion. Even though we enjoyed the lounge in the Haven often, I noticed a nice hidden gem on level 15, nice quiet lounge.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was a great cabin. Very first on the port side. Plenty of room and only 20 feet from the lounge.

Ship tip

Plan ahead, the elevators are slow.

Ports of call

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

It's a great place to relax. We didn't do any excursions.

New York, New York

We love this port, it's where it all began.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were off the ship in no time. They put us on one of the crew elevators and shoot us down to deck 7 and boot us out.
