A fantastic voyage overall. Just a few minor complaints, but nothing that would affect the quality of my cruise.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Overall, the embarkation process was smooth. I had purchased Priority Access in anticipation for long, hectic lines; but as it turns out, I should not have spent the extra dollars on Priority Access. Did nothing. I understand that it said Priority Access when applicable, but paying $179 for $50 onboard credit and capreses is NOT worth it. Boarding was a bit confusing as well. Once we were on the ship a crew member barked at us to go to Deck 16. We asked for clarification, but she seemed a bit flustered/busy so her co-worker was able to give my husband and I a sufficient explanation.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
My husband and I tried the main dining rooms, the teppanyaki, and the local bar. The food was decent enough. Variety of selections was minimal, and I was surprised that there was no Mexican cuisine options. We did not try the other a la carte specialty dining because we decided it was not worth the extra costs if the food was only slightly "better" than the main dining rooms. There were a few items I found delectable, but very few. Nothing to rave about, but nothing to complain about either.
Also, I did find it odd that most restaurants, including the buffet, CLOSED at certain times of the day. Only 1 restaurant on the entire ship (and it's a large ship) was open 24/7 to accommodate passengers.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There is plenty to do on the ship! You can run around the track, swim in the pool, play laser tag or mini golf, even drive on a race track! (We did not pay the EXTRA cost for that)
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The entertainment crew is extremely talented! Bravo!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
I have nothing but WONDERFUL things to say about the crew. Thank you so much for making our cruise a fantastic experience!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I loved the amenities of the ship. Very clean and comfortable. The level of "poshiness" that my husband and I are accustomed to.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We ended up bidding on an upgrade and received a Balcony room. It was perfect for the two of us, but next time I will be choosing the location of my stateroom (now that I know what to expect).
Ship tip
Bring your own hot sauce! If you prefer something other than Tabasco, bring your own!
@critter48658 we had a stateroom with a window, and bid $250 for a balcony and $300 for a balcony suite. They let us know about a week before we set sail. (Via email)
What type of cabin did you book to start? And how much did you bid to upgrade? We have done the same from an inside to a balcony, We haven't heard yet, we leave Feb 2nd.
