You should reevaluate this ship and especially the security who seem to be bloated with power We had a lovely day with an excursion that canoed us and hiked us to a private land and a glacier that had beautiful rocks and shells with education as we searched for souvenir unusual rock to take home. On arrival the security staff removed the two rocks were ruse and wouldn’t explain why they confiscated the rocks except to say they weren’t sterile. Some people should not be given power, they are dangerous especially if they have low IQ’s

Most servers seemed inexperienced, inefficient and not personable and there were definitely not enough servers.
Only restaurant that was excellent was Cagneys. The Buffett food and Main Dining Room was bland and boring.

Trivia questions were outlandish!!!
Have corporate utilize a person who can be more creative instead of opening up an encyclopedia and closing their eyes and picking the subject and question. People in the crowd were only getting 3-4 correct answers

Deal or No Deal was cancelled without notification. The female comedian was great. Final nite of Karaoke was cancelled because of technical problems. There was a professional entertainer as a quest who offered to utilize their equipment/software and staff refused.

Room steward was excellent. Not enough servers and most seemed sad. You could have used some of the staff that were standing at doors with alcohol spray and saying washy washy as actual servers and the servers that walked around singing while topping off coffee. That would have been 4 extra servers who we’re actually serving

Clean but too small. Could barely move around in bathroom. Sink basin was huge when u could have utilized the space as counter space. Plug in on make-up area didn’t work

Don’t sail on this ship. The Encore and the Escape was excellent.
The Captain was too cautious or ??? to cruise to Hubbard because of a ?storm, so sails us out to the open sea to Seward directly? At one of the ports the Port workers were yelling at “Joe” the ? Captain to use his brain and/or get some help to parallel park the ship which he took forever and in calm waters we booked the cruise to see the Hubbard Glacier and of course angry and disappointed. Most of the passengers we visited with during the total cruise were upset with multiple complaints
I sailed on the Jewel in June 2023 and the staff were so happy and smiling all of the time. I know after talking to a few of them that they had 9-month contracts and don’t get a day off throughout that 9 months. It’s possible that the ones you said were sad on your cruise were just tired.
You’re on a cruise vacation to Alaska and you’re this unhappy?? Do you realize how fortunate you were to be on this cruise? There is always something good to be found in most situations. Your vacation is what you choose to make it.
And Alaska cruise is amazing by any standard, and yiu definitely found the way to ruin what was suppose to be an amazing cruise. Nothing worse than reading reviews from people who think they are smarter than the captain or the crew and are able to complain about the pettiest of issues. I'm thinking cruising isn't for you and woukd be a good idea to vacation at land based resorts so that other cruisers can enjoy their cruise.
