Review summary

I could not believe how calm the Tasman Sea was, traveling in both directions. Sea conditions are always a lottery when on a cruise. I loved it. Happy trails everybody.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
No specialty restaurants visited. No dramas with the others though. Loved the nightly snacks at O'Sheehan's bar and grill. The chicken wings with Thai chilli sauce were just the best.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Too cold to sit by the pool. Even in port. Disappointing.

Sometimes attended the nightly shows twice. Every entertainer gave 100%. I was well entertained.

Children's Programs

I am 64. What kids?

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everybody bent over backwards to please you. Bar staff would remember your beverage of choice as soon as you approached. The cabin steward was super efficient (day and night). Absolutely all staff said hello and smiled when you passed by.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Easy to find your way around. Only took a few days. There was always a cleaning activity, no matter what time of the day or night.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
No problem with the comfort. Bed was great. Slept like a log. Adequate size for me. Bathroom was a squeeze. Toilet worked if you had no legs. Sat on the balcony heaps of times.

Ship tip

Eat your meals at O'Sheehan's bar and grill. So much better than the buffet.

Port Chalmers (Dunedin), New Zealand

Walked about the town for a wee while (Port Chalmers). Good to stretch the legs. Nothing planned. Just took it all in.

Akaroa, New Zealand

Beautiful sea side town. So relaxing to wonder about and soak it all in. Definitely geared for the tourist.

Picton, New Zealand

4 out of 5
Another great place to walk about in. Flat terrain means you cover lots of ground. The beach front is a top place.

Napier, New Zealand

Smaller than you would think. But big in presentation. This place could teach some Australian destinations a thing or two.

Tauranga, New Zealand Did not visit port

Wait for the man overboard story to be released.

Auckland, New Zealand

Been here many times. just another city. A lot of new construction work going on. The wharf area will be a whole new look when it is finished.

Carried my own luggage off. No hassle. Off the ship and way home.
