Overall the trip was great! The only downfall were the toilets not working the last 2 days. I would recommend this ship - once it's refurbished. If not, take another ship. We have only sailed on Norwegian and we've not been disappointed in their service, food, rooms and excursions they provide. I will most likely sail again on Norwegian.
Embarkation

We thought the process was very easy because we started our trip with the train excursion from Anchorage to Seward, but what we realized later was they didn't take our credit card information, so it wasn't connected to our key card. After getting on the ship, we had to stand in line for about 25 minutes to have this done. We've only been on 1 other cruise and this was done at the pier when they did the check-in process. It was much less chaotic doing at the pier.

Food and Dining

The food was good - we had no complaints.

Entertainment

The shows were great. I have no complaints about the shows. Compared to the other cruise we did - they had less of a variety, the same comedian twice and similar Cirque shows, but they were still good. No complaints
Children's Programs
Service and Staff

We were part of a group of 16, our room steward always seemed to know whether or not other group members were in or out. He was a lot of fun such a hard worker. I cannot say enough good things about him.
Ship Quality

We disembarked on Monday - our toilets didn't work properly all of Sunday and Monday. They did react when we called and told them of the problem, but every time they said they were fixed, we had the same issue. It wasn't just our room, we were told it was the entire floor. The ship looked worn and in need of refurbishing. We were told that after our cruise - it was going to dry dock for refurbishing within 3 weeks. Compared to the Pride of American - this ship needed a lot of help.
There wasn't much to do here. You can walk Icy Strait Point in about 20 minutes and visit the shops in another 40 minutes. We were told you can go to the town of Hoonah, but was also told the only thing to see there was a cute hardware store. Glad we book the Halibut Fishing excursion - That was awesome!
We didn't visit the town, but did a couple of excursions - I took a helicopter to Mendenhall Glacier and did the 2 mile trek. That was so amazing! My husband went to the Mendenhall Glacier visitor center and saw a Mama bear and her 2 cubs. He also said the tour was really nice.
We did the train into BC. The views were amazing! We also did the Original Street Car tour, that was really good. Told about the history of Skagway and took us to the Gold Rush Cemetery.
My husband went salmon fishing - he was the only person to catch anything. He was excited! I walked the town and saw the sites. I used the map from the visitor center and went to each of the points of interest. Everything is pretty close together. It's a nice town.
