Review summary

Dave, the cruise director was personable, fun and really made you feel at home. The staff always said hello and asked if they could help. My steward went out of his way to compliment me and ask about my day. Everything flowed nicely. There was something going on all the time, shows, music, games, and non-stop food options. I was traveling by myself, but never felt alone. Looking forward to going on my next cruise.

Organized, quick, and easy. I parked in the garage, then I was driven to the luggage drop off point and boarded all in about 1 hour.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was beyond great in every venue and the staff was sooooo.... nice. The dining areas were clean and comfortable. There were windows everywhere and I liked sitting outside. I like healthy foods and feared that there would be just heavy carbs and sweets, but I had oatmeal, eggs, and fruit at breakfast along with some of the best coffee I have ever tasted. There was a nice variety at each meal of meat, chicken, fish, and salads. I tried the foods from other cultures and of course, I had to try the delicious sweets. My favorite was the crepe and the ice cream.

Onboard Activities

FUN!!! The hot tub in the evening was relaxing and usually not occupied, the exercise room has a great view and music, the massage was worth every penny, the games were fun even just to watch.

Entertainment

The aerobatics were outstanding. The dancers/singers were fabulous. The Temperature Band was excellent. Every staff person added their own special personality to make the events fun and lively. The cruise director was the best! I don't know the name of my favorite band- they played in the main area - three guitar players and a Bongo player. They were great!!

Children's Programs

I did not bring children, but they looked like fun.

Service and Staff

My steward was the BEST!!! I was treated like a queen! My every need was met and with a smile. Everyone was nice and helpful. Really can't say enough about that whole aspect of the trip. It was wonderful!! Not a crab in the whole bunch.

Ship Quality

I wish I could those folks home with me. Every drop of anything was swept or wiped away practically before it hit the floor or the table. I love to walk so I saw just about the whole ship. Every part was spotless. The design seemed to fit the needs to all the people perfectly. I never had a hard time finding a seat at the pool or the dining area or even at the shows. I saw the glacier from a few different areas of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

My cabin was always clean and my steward left me the crazy towel animals everyday, they were great. The cabin was comfortable, very clean, and had a great shower. The room had lots of storage and was small, but not too small. I did not spend much time in the room, there was too much to do on the ship.

Ship tip

I should have asked for a tour of the ship. I love to walk and did not discover the 7th floor until halfway through the cruise. On the 7th floor you can walk around the entire ship. Once I realized this, I met several other people who liked to walk and it was fun. You can walk around to top floor, but you have to go up and down stairs and it is more crowded.

I did not do any formal tour of Seattle, but I did stay there an extra day and really enjoyed the atmosphere, except all the homeless people and people begging for money on every corner.

I took a bus tour which was wonderful. I saw lots of Salmon, a black bear eating Salmon, many birds including a Bald Eagle. There is a rich history. The tour guide made the trip really fun.

This was the best. I took the ATV ride to the glacier. WOW!!! First we were taken on a long van ride through beautiful landscape way up in the mountains, then climbed into an off road vehicle and we were all driven up a huge mountain through semi-rough terrain until we reached the base on a glacier and stood by its lake. As if this was not enough, we were then driven to the other side and sat by a river watching the mountain goats and other animals while we ate a nice boxed lunch given to us by the drivers. This was excellent. I am 60 years old and it was not too rough for me and the younger people even drove the ATV.

What a beautiful city. The bus tour was the way to go because there is no way to see this large city and get the history any other way. There were so many interesting stops like the petting zoo with peacocks and all naturally cared for animals. There was a castles, and many beautiful mansions. That tour guide was excellent and gave a lot of interesting history.

We were told that we could leave the ship at 8am. I was in line at 7:30 and going down the gangway at 8am. The driver was waiting for me to take me back to the parking garage and I was at Pike Place Market to watch it be set up for the day and get a cup of coffee at the ORIGINAL Starbucks by 9am. Easy as pie.
