Review summary

Wonderful trip. The crew was spectacular, the excursions we chose were a good fit for our family. I would highly recommend this trip. We all felt the Alaskan ports were similar. It's the excursions at each that made them fun.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining was above average. Pool side BBQ & German was excellent. Specialty dining at Cagney's Steak house, Italian, and Japanese steak house was superb. Service was exceptional, food was absolutely wonderful.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Large fitness center could be busy in the morning, but had something for everyone, including classes.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Watched the shows every night. Wonderful entertainment by comedians, dancers, magician. Three generations ages 15 to 63 in our group. All of us thoroughly enjoyed them. Richard, our cruise director was friendly, engaging, and an overall joy around the ship and at the shows.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
12 year old boy would have spent the entire cruise playing with his "ship friends". Great club activities.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Having only one other cruise on another cruise line, we have limited exposure. Norwegian personnel were always smiling, always friendly, always helpful. That is from the Captain of the ship to every steward, cook, entertainer. Spotless ship with a super crew.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It seemed like we were always on the wrong end of the ship, but I think that was because there was just so much to do. Very clean ship that was constantly being tended to.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Two kids (12 &15) and two adults. Definitely full when sleeping, but very comfortable. Our room had a pump that was quite noisy just below which affected wife's sleeping.

Ship tip

Floor between 7 & 12 would be very helpful. With most activities 7 or 12, it's a lot of stairs or time waiting for the elevator. 124 steps from our 5th floor to the 12th for main dining, pool, kids club, Spinnaker lounge.

Simple. Carried all of our luggage, so we just walked off. No problem.
