Looking at the long lines, I thought we would not get aboard in time for departure. But the professionals who were in charge, got us aboard quickly and easily. Of course, we had our luggage tagged properly and had all our papers at the ready.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
So much food and good food too. We went to 3 specialty restaurants and each was excellent in their special way. The main dining rooms were okay too but the food was not as spectacular as the specialty restaurants. The buffet had frequent menu changes along with regular standbys and each day a special meal.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Mostly, I attended workshops or talks or demonstrations of which there were many of interest to me. The
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The stage shows that I saw were of excellent caliber. The children's show was well put together considering the minimal amount of time they had. The bands and entertainers were great. We especially liked Alhambra and the Show Band. They were even able to play oompah music for a German party!
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
My grandchildren loved the program. They are ages 4 and 5.. They even asked to go to that program giving my daughter a much needed break especially in the evening.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
There is no such thing as a surly waiter on board. The staff all seem to be friendly and willing to take an extra moment to pass the time of day. The room steward always had the room looking welcoming both morning and evening. They seem to be famous for those towel sculpted animals.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I have no previous experience with a ship but what I saw was fine with me. The elevators were located in ares that are easy to get to. Everything seemed clean and orderly and the staff kept it well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We were 3 adults sharing a cabin and there was more than adequate space and storage for all of us. The beds were comfortable, there were adequate blankets, plenty of thick soft towels and washcloths and enough room to move around. The steward kept it neat and tidy.
Ship tip
Go to as many different restaurants as you can. Spend time outside on your sea days.
Seattle is a city not unlike any other city. I didn't realize it was so hilly. We did go to the Space Needle and the beautiful Chulily glass ans gardens. We enjoyed both very much.
We loved this little town with its local color and charm. We went to the Lumberjack show which was lots of fun, did some shopping and had fish and chips in a local restaurant.
This was another town we did not see much of because we rented a van and drove on our own basically following the railroad and into Yukon for a dog sledding ride. Again made it back with minutes to spare.
Another city. We caught a shuttle bus and got to see beautiful flowers but brown grass which was due to lack of rain. Had an ice cream, a little shopping and then back to ship to have dinner and then see the final show.
We chose the option of carrying our own bags and walking off when we were ready. It went smoothly and quickly. The captain was at the gangway for a final farewell. There were a lot of people on the sidewalk trying to find a ride so that held things up but that had nothing to do with the ship.
