Review summary

This was my first and last time I will travel on Norwegian Cruise line.  They do not compare to Royal Caribbean or Carnival.  First, they shortened our cruise and did away with the Skagway port (which was my reason for cruise, great white train excursion) and give us a big one day reimbursement back.  Big deal.  Many people saved a long time for the this cruise and $170.00 is certainly not going to get them back to Skagway.  Luckily, I am a frequent cruiser and will go back on a different line.  It was very sad to hear how some people saved for years for this trip and we were given 3 days notice of no Skagway.

Next there is not enough seating in buffet area for breakfast and lunch.  Also, dinner was overall horrible.  The service could not be worse.  It took forever to be waited on and have a drink refilled.  I could have run down to the buffet faster than waiting for staff service.  Food arrived luke warm and never hot.  First night I got the chicken breast and it was barely big enough to get two forks of meat.  Norwegian cruise lines should take a trip on Royal Caribbean or Carnival to see how dinner is prepared and served well.

The one excursion besides Skagway I had booked we were told to meet in the theater at a certain time.  My traveling friends got there early and we got there on time.  However, they took the early group out to a bus to leave before the appointed time and I missed spending the day with the people I traveled with.  Not acceptable!

In closing, the Bingo game is a joke,  You charge $49.00 and $69.00 to play only 3 games and with a chance at a jackpot only to find out that on the final jackpot game, The pot does not pay out regardless of numbers.  I fully respect other cruise lines letting their jackpots go for each cruise.  I can only imagine the money Norwegian made off the bingo games.  There were at least 50 people each day at $69.00 per person and only paid out games at $120.00 each.  Gee where did all that money go.

Worst cruiseline ever and will never use again.

Sounds to me that once the cruise was altered to miss a port the negativity came out. Sure you can nit pick any cruise line and be disgruntled. In reality if your chicken was small and lukewarm ask for another serving or change your order to something else. In regards to the bingo it is run by the folks from the casino. They are in business to take your money. Nobody forced them to play! So good luck changing cruise lines as you'll probably find something not to your liking there too.

I think on the whole Carnival is good, depends on itinerary and ship you are on. I enjoy them all, with the exception of the one NCL. However, any day on a cruise is better than a day at work! LOL.

We just got back from Carnival cruise this July and it was wonderful! Going again on Carnival next summer and can't wait!

Sbyer, I agree with you that NCL is more than lacking in just the food department. Once was enough for me. I keep reading reviews from people who love it and wonder what I missed! Variety is good, something for everyone. By the way, I have friends who just returned from a Carnival cruise, they thought the food and services lacking there. I will be on Celebrity Equinox next month, always a good choice.

You have no idea what your talking about..first off ncl is a fine cruiseline, best in the industry.second if they cancel a port there is a reason for it..unlike stupid carnival they care about passenger safety..try sailing on a bigger ship and you'll have a better time..every ncl cruise I've been on has been memorable.you need to research your ships before sailing sheesh

Any cruise line can cancel a port last minute and if it was due to weather or similar they may not of had much notice with the rest I have had the opposite experiences to you and am sad to hear you feel this way about ncl
