Review summary
This was our 12th Norwegian cruise in 10 years and we are aware of changes, some good and some bad. Like all lines, they are trying to balance budget and value, just like us. Little things do make a difference. We noticed a change in the room service breakfast menu, no more hot food, (except for coffee), just juice, rolls and cereal. We only used to use this on early excursion days to get us going and missed the eggs and bacon, etc. Up in the Garden Cafe, no trays and they have gone to melamine plates which turned out to be a blessing. Less food carried to tables, less wasted. On the one rough sea day, this alone saved a fortune. For platinum members, your free dinner in a specialty restaurants is now limited to the less expensive ones,(no Cagney's or Tepenyaki). By the way, the new restaurant, Moderno, is great. Just go really hungry as the meat is never ending. A carnivore's dream. The shows were spectacular. Even liked things we normally don't get excited about...except for the hypnotist. The cruise director, Jamie, was very good, one of our favorites. And don't miss the last night's variety show for "The Fountains" alone. You'll see. All in all, it was a great trip....good ports, good food, good people. We felt the value was there and the comfort except for the smallest bathroom on NCL. Our fault, we chose deck 5 way up front where the bow narrows and we laughed about it....a lot, as we are not small people. We ran into old friends and made new ones, Savio and Siva, you know who you are. We are still big NCL fans and will return.Ship experiences
