Review summary
Just returned fron a 9 day cruise on NCL Jewel. The ship and all the help were great The bad aspects of the cruise were: We didn't like Freestyle dining and pushing drinks on people, selling raffle tickets everywhere especially at the shows, automatically putting gratuities on bill. I got tired of telling the waiters that I didn't want any drinks. We would prefer to have same waiters etc at meals and tip Room Stewards and Dining Help myself according to service. Also they have a real bad system for getting off. It shouldn't take more than 2 hours to depart. There was a Lounge on the deck below our room and at 11:30 every night you could hear screaming and music in our room. We made a complaint and no one ever got back to us. One of the Islands in the Dominican Republic "Somoa" was so poor it made you NOT want to go ashore. The locals followed you and hounded you all the time you were there. The other islands gradually got better as far as quality of life goes BUT you were hounded by the locals also.Ship experiences
