Review summary

Overall great vacation to four destinations in the Caribbean. Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted in all locations so the heightened awareness is still evident but not as oppressive. If you want a quite vacation, this is it. If you want more shore excursions, this might leave you wanting a little more. Financially, it was a good value for a group of ten (five staterooms). Smaller vessels have some advantages and disadvantages. You won't have a problem navigating the location of things onboard.

Embarkation

Smooth sailing - check-in was a breeze

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Great service all-around. I recommend Cagney's Steakhouse as a specialty restaurant. The Lamb chops were fabulous!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Only two pools but several hot tubs to choose from. Hot tubs were hot the entire cruise which was a big plus. Pools tended to be very crowded and allowed only limited movement. Some passengers felt uncomfortable and did not like how crammed in they were. Smaller vessel means smaller deck space. BINGO was great fun out of the sun!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Stage shows and comedy was great.

Children's Programs

No children in our group

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
I thought everyone was friendly. However, you could tell that some of the staff were disgruntled or were fatigued with their back-to-back schedules which created a level of uncomfortable feelings in some groups on board. We had a number of conversations with other guests that indicated the same feeling.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The majority of the ship is maintained at a high degree. I did notice that the pool towels generally were dingy several days during the trip.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Excellent service throughout the trip. Room size was acceptable for two people. Balcony is relatively private. Depending on your adjoining rooms or neighbors, it can get loud with children or people who have had too much to drink. Keeping the door closed minimized any unwanted noise. A/C worked great. Bathroom (Head) had separate shower and comode area which keeps things from getting wet or allows two people to use it simultaneously.

Ship tip

Reserve your dinner spot early as they fill up quickly. Free style dining is nice but it also may mean you miss other onboard activities.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Close proximity and parking is easy in/out. Oversize parking also on premise.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

4 out of 5
Nice for small groups looking for things to do. I was disappointed that I could not dive (scuba) this location, only snorkeling tours. Our group did do a snorkeling tour in Sosua. Great for beginners. Unfortuantely, the depth of water and the required life vest does not allow advanced swimmers or snorkelers to really experience the area by swimming beneth the surface of water. Upon our return to the port we realized the number of things to do if you are not into water sports. Plenty of shops to explore.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

2 out of 5
Port is very limited for activities. No close beaches. I was disappointed that I could not dive (scuba) this location, only snorkeling tours. However, I recommend visiting Pusser's and enjoying a famous Painkiller to straighten out any attitudes.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
The port has many things to go and do that are within walking distance. The amount of time spent in the port limits how far you can travel unless you book an excursion with the ship. I was disappointed that I could not dive (scuba) this location.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

3 out of 5
I was happy to learn that your drink pass extends to the island. I was disappointed that I could not dive (scuba) this location, only snorkeling off the beach.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We carried our own bags off the ship and it was the smoothest and quickest experience we've had with any of our past trips
