Review summary

The ports of call were great! Disappointed with the ship after hearing such great things about NCL. There is a lot of room for improvement on this ship in all areas if they want to make a cruise on this ship truly unforgettable.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Tampa port staff were rude and not very customer service friendly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
If you want good quality food go for the specialty restaurants. The Buffet, Main Dining room and other food was sub par at best.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pool was nice and I liked that there was one that was adults only. However, the staff could never seem to have enough chairs put out for the number of people needing them. When asked why more chairs could not be put out they didn't really give a reason other than "wind", but it was super inconsistent.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
When they actually had shows (out of 7 nights only 4 shows) they were wonderful. Elements was jaw dropping, Blazzin Boots (their country show) was AMAZING!!, and the magicians were funny and very good. The only stage show that was not worth the time was the aerial show. It was a very odd them and many of the stunts were already done in the Elements show early that week so it came across as a space filler. They did have a Broadway Showcase in the Spinnaker Lounge that was GREAT!!

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
They did their job. Many of them seemed like they didn't want to be there. Which was odd because we had heard such great things about the customer service of the staff with NCL.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
The ship is older. Says it was refurbished but I had a hard time seeing that. I will say it was clean, but the layout was very frustrating. This layout was super segmented and nothing really connected to anything. It made it feel like it took you the scenic route to get to everything on the ship and I felt like I was in a maze because I would just come to different sections where there was no way to get to anything. So, you would have to turn around and go back to find a new way. I have been on older cruise ships before and that is not a problem this one just did not make sense, especially with the number of people on board.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
It was your standard inside cabin. It was laid out slightly different than what I had seen in the past because of where we were located in the hall but it did its job. Could have used some brighter lighting since there were no windows. Also, the A/C never actually got cold it was just cool.

Ship tip

If you can find another ship with the same ports go with that one.

Wonderful Port! It is very humid so make sure you have plenty of water and comfortable walking shoes if you do one of the tours of the ruins.
