Review summary

A lovely ship which links the old-style NCL Ships to the new, have great memories onboard and loved it just as much as before. A great ship and amazing destinations!

Embarkation

Excellent can’t fault a thing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Le Bistro was an 11/10, the service from the wait staff especially I Putu our waiter was incredible and the food was outstanding. Cagney’s is always a hit or miss for me and sadly it missed this time but wouldn’t stop me going again. Moderno superb, and Teppanyaki great. The food in the buffet and main dining rooms was fantastic also for what it was and very much enjoyed jasmine garden. Only gripe is the policy of dress code in main dining room. Despite wearing a shirt and tailored shorts, this doesn’t adhere to the code which I understand but seeing others admitted wearing ripped jeans and sports shirts doesn’t sit well.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

4 out of 5
NCL always hit the mark with the game shows especially with the Newlywed game show. The broadway cabaret really surprised us how good it was. We enjoyed the tribute nights both with the band and without, but we’d have loved more of these. And perhaps a tiny bit more variety with singers. The one show we attended in the theatre was magician Chase Hasty, who was not only a good magician but an excellent entertainer who we’d happily watch again.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent staff, from our cabin steward providing us with small requested extras to the bar staff keeping the drinks coming (particularly the bar staff at O’Sheehan’s) to the many of friendly waiters we met across the nine days. One of the best cruises for staff I’ve ever been on!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Becoming too used the design of breakaway class and above ships means it’s easy to see why this ship can be seen as a bit disjointed. On the whole very clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Only had wished they’d do a turn down service as well as include small things such as pens in the staterooms!

Ship tip

Book Teppanyaki early!

Ports of call

Istanbul, Turkey

3 out of 5
A very nice city just a lot of pushy people at shops and restaurants, especially in the bazaars! Slightly dampened by the weather but worth the visit. Everywhere is walkable if you are able to.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
A great port to leave from, both the centre and pireaus had a great environment and well linked with the metro. Suggest the botanical gardens rather than the busy tourist traps such as the acropolis.

Rhodes, Greece

5 out of 5
Will be back, stunning place!

Ashdod, Israel

4 out of 5
Our excursion to the Dead Sea was a 5/5 but the port without an excursion would be nothing. Expensive taxis and far away from most things. Well worth booking excursion

Limassol, Cyprus

5 out of 5
Really nice port very much enjoyed the short time we had there.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Aside from the maintenance work taking place just underneath our cabin before 6am, the disembarkation was smooth. An abundance of taxis and buses at the port.
