Loved the Jade and all her staff! What a great crew to vacation with. Seeing the Panama Canal was awesome, it really is a marvel. Costa Rica rainforest was my favorite. Roatan has the best snorkeling ever! Costa Maya has been restored to a big playground and outside mall. Harvest Caye was really nice, but a bit overpriced. Loved every minute and would love to do it again some day.

Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Service in main dining room was slow. After that experience the first night, we went to the Alizar restaurant every night thereafter. Can't say enough about how wonderful an experience that became! Harold, Desmond, Devi, and Ngqabutho took excellent care of us. They made us feel like royalty every night! After watching them work their magic for 10 dinners, I saw they do that for everyone! I don't know how, but they had to be exhausted at the end of every day. The food was very good. For the menu, I would like to see a better offering of nightly specials, maybe something related to the port we were in each day. Ate at the buffet for breakfast and lunch every day, great food and selection every time. Did not go to any of the specialty restaurants, I think they are overpriced.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Enjoyed the ADULT POOL! Played a little shuffleboard with the parents. Fitness center was well equipped.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Top notch! Best shows on any of the past 20 cruises I've been on!
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
No children with us. I didn't have to put up with other peoples children so I'm guessing the programs were a hit!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Best ever! Every staff member I met had great customer service. Always smiling, happy to see us, kind words.... someone is doing something right in leadership on the Norwegian Jade!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Needed more seating in the Garden buffet, had to hover around people eating and run for an empty table or a large table with 4 seats open. Tables were cleaned quickly for next family to sit down though. Ship was easy to navigate, good signage.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
First time to have an inside cabin. It was smaller than expected but adequate for storing our belongings, sleeping, and showering. The shower was surprisingly good sized with a sliding door instead if a shower curtain. Not enough counter space in the room, the bed was not comfortable for my tastes.
Ship tip
Check out Spinnaker Lounge for great views and a super lead bartender. I hate that I cannont remember his name, but I remember he went by his last name. He treated us like old friends the first time we went in there. He makes great drinks, some I had never had before!
Did the Hop on Hop off bus tour, booked through Norwegian ahead of time. Needed more time here at this port. Visited the fortress- very cool! Bad part about the fortress was that it is not handicapped accessible and after paying for my elderly but mobile parents, they could not make it up the steep slopes to explore the fort. Took walking tour of walled city, I would suggest a horse and buggy tour as its pretty spread out.
No tour, was basically a sea day. Interesting to watch the traversing through the canal and locks. Nice commentary on overhead PA system-all day!- educational.
Not much here, maybe we could of taken a tour to see more. When getting off the ship, there's 3 or 4 restaurants, 3 or 4 souvenir shops, and a casino. Took 10 mins to see, then back on the ship.
Love, love, love this port! Beautiful! We did the boat, train, and rainforest walk excursion, booked through Norwegian. Excellent way to get a look at the flora and fauna of Costa Rica. We saw tons of beautiful flowers, howler monkeys, a sloth, lizards, birds.... it was great and I highly suggest it.
No excursion, the port is the excursion! Lots of activities offered. There is a very nice pool and beach here, all free. However, the restaurants are not part of the cruise so you have to pay for meals and drinks while here. Activities, food, and drinks were quite overpriced, I passed on paddle boarding here which I had planned to do.
VERY CROWDED! Our beach resort reservation we booked ourselves on-line was cancelled do to excessive seaweed on the beach. We walked back to the port area and kept ourselves busy with the million shops and plentiful, good, local type restaurants. There were several shows put on in commons areas that were fun to watch. Nice pool too!
Slow, delayed about an hour from our selected disembarcation time. I do LOVE that guests get to pick their desired disembarcation time though, but most people didn't end up disembarking at their chosen time so I think that's what slowed everyone down. This needs to be monitored by Norwegian staff.
