The ship was clean & comfortable. The service was not up to what we have had on previous NCL cruises -- except for our steward and butler. We selected this ship because of the itinerary ... this cruise and a back-to-back Eastern Med itinerary, produced a great 19 day adventure

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The choices are not as varied as we have seen before. And the specialty restaurants did not provide extra-special service for the additional fee. The Grand Pacific dining room service was slow. We opted for Alizar mostly.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
On this cruise we had four straight port days with long excursions, so we paid little attention to what was on the schedule. We'd come back from the excursion, grab dinner and hit the sack to be ready for the next day.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
This rating is for our butler and steward who took great care of us, responding quickly to special requests and providing extras. The remainder of the staff, particularly the front desk staff were only average.

It's time they update the decor... the Hawaiian theme only goes so far. There are still signs for things that are no longer aboard (e.g. the HI cultural center).
Cabin / Stateroom

This was our first penthouse suite. We loved the extra amenities like having our own cappuccino machine.
We chose the Lucca/Pisa excursion. Great history, good amount of time to explore. The late hour of arrival in Pisa limited outside photos. Winter arrival meant no charge for the Duomo.
Pompeii and Taste of Sorrento tour. We could have used more time in the ruins, but this gave us a broad overview tour. Lunch at a local farmhouse with samples of mozarrella and limoncello was a highlight
We did Ancient Rome tour (Trevi, Forum, Colisseum, and St Peter's). Good guide made the tour. Wed arrival and 4 cruise ships in port meant St Peters was super crowded (am Papal audience put all tours into pm).
