The best specialty restaurants are Bistro and Cucina. And for the complimentary restaurants, Taste seemed the most fun and best service. Especially since our waiter Collin was first rate.

more time for sight seeing, more entertainment for all Have some acts that are not always in the bars.

Our first cruise was on a smaller Royal Caribbean ship. We find cruising on a ship the size of the Getaway was much nicer.

Best buffet...Garden Cafe loved it! So many choices. Cagneys, Le Bistro, Lucina Italian....all perfect.

Make sure you have a lot of energy cause there is a lot going on...

Make dinner reservations on-line in advance to avoid waits on the first day and sea days to avoiding longer waits for tables.

Find H2O Spice on the 16th floor first day,a lot of people have no idea it even exist.

Don't book these large new ships

too many passengers...dont do it. Pick a smaller 2,000 person or smaller cruise ship.

Traveler Hint: If you're traveling as a couple and you are placed on the top of an excursion "waiting list" be aware of the following, if there is 1 opening, you will not be notified. That excursion will go to someone traveling alone. If another person cancelled that excursion will go to a single.

The food in the fee-free dining rooms, Taste, Savor and Tropicana were identical. In general seating at Tropicana was easier. The buffet was very good and often had better quality food. O'Sheehans was good for snacks and especially their fish and chips. Shanghai was only above average.

Make reservations for the entertainment shows and restaurants as soon as possible long before your sail away date.

I think trying the other restaurants are good, if you eat at the buffet all the time you tend to eat way too much!

Try Cagneys it's really good.

Get a mini-suite if you can and avoid inside rooms.

Be prepared with lots of patience. If you don't mind the large crowds swarming all around you, you should do ok.

Make sure to book specialty restaurants and shows early on to get choices. Book your own excursions instead of the ship's, which will be much better value.

I told friends of ours about the French restaurant, the haven area, the entertainment must sees, and to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere

I would not get a mid-ship cabin. I think you end up walking more. You walk to either the forward or aft elevator and then walk to the middle of the ship to get to where you are going. Next time Im going to stay closer to one of the elevator lobbies.

With the number of ports that you visit don't plan on being able to spend much time at any one site if you are on a tour. If possible (time and money) try to get a private tour and then spend the time at the sites you are really interested in seeing while in port.
