I am a platinum member of Norwegian  The service and treatment we received from from your concierge personnel ( Virginia Brothertan) was terribly disappointing.  She's rude impatient, and spoke to us in a very condescending manner. She shouldn't be dealing with your clients.  

Last but not least.  We never received our $100.00 on board credit.  Additionally we were charged an additional $50. for our ship to airport transfer which were already PREPAID!! It's a SHAME!!  This was reported to BJ's customer service when we returned but we haven't heard from BJ's customer service since 12/21.  POOR SERVICE BY BJ's

Any cruise is good. The Getaway was a good ship. But I would not call this cruise great. We love Norwegian Cruise Line and will sail with them again. Our experience this time was not as great as our previous cruises. Norwegian started the "Free Style Cruising" which is wonderful. Now they seem to be drifting away from  this feature. They are pushing to schedule shows and dining, and of course with additional charges. I didn't like this change at all. I have enough schedules at home, I don't need them at sea too.

The adult pool is small. People position their chairs all around the edges with their feet in the water. You can't actually use the pool for swimming. 

The so called "jogging track" is a joke. It's like running around a ping pong table. 

Hot tubs are usually packed all day with the same people who seem to never leave.

The Thermal Spa is a great feature even though a bit pricey - $200 per person for the week. We used it every day. This is another area where people saved the Stone Beds and lounges with their towels while in the pools or treatment rooms. Be prepared to be accosted by the staff to buy stuff   ; everything from 

skin and dental treatments, massage, even Botox. The prices are high too. If I want to be harassed to buy something at too high prices, I would just take a walk in Jamaica. 

We will never take an excursion in Grand Cayman again. The ship crew and the tour operator were so disorganized. We had to wait an hour and a half to get started, then there was complete chaos for the return. Norwegian did refund part of our money, but we won't do that again. However our excursion in Cozumel (Passion Isle beach break) was excellent. Those people really worked hard to make our day great. And they succeeded. 

Food was good and the wait staff was ok. No real problems there. 

All in all it was a nice trip. Maybe the ship is just too big with too many people. We'll take a smaller one next time.

The Norwegian Getaway is a large ship - 4000 passengers.  Reservations were required for dining and shows.  We didn't get to see several shows because they were overbooked.  Unheard of in our experience with Norwegian Cruises.  This was not Freestyle Cruising of which Norwegian boasts.  The crowds were evident everywhere.  There was no "observation" bar or venue where one could enjoy low-impact music and maybe dance a little.  The cruise was definitely geared for a much younger audience.  We are in our early to mid '60s and we still felt like old fogies.  The food was good, the passengers were polite, except for a few rowdy teenagers.  All of the games (some too bawdy) and music trivia contests were geared to the last 30 years, mostly the last 20 years.  Photographers were everywhere at night interrupting traffic flow.  Since my wife and I are Latitude Members, our members only party had a line out the door of the club for almost 70 feet.  It was SRO and not enjoyable at all.  The room and our steward were top quality.  Really enjoyed the balcony and the steward went above and beyond taking care of us.  I gave him a large tip in appreciation.  We got the dining package and enjoyed those experiences, especially the Ocean Blue and Cagney's restaurants.  I had never waited for a seat in the main complimentary dining rooms ever until this cruise, and then it was pretty empty.  So why the wait?  The staff was courteous, as always, but I didn't like the larger ship.  Way too many people to be enjoyable.  We are going to stay away from the mega ships and return to the smaller "Jewel" class ships.  Embarkation was not done well.  There are two entrances in Miami for Norwegian and no one informed us of which to use.  Of course, we used the wrong one and almost got locked out of the other.  Debarkation was very easy as we don't check luggage and walk off early.

That was a most relaxing vacation i had for years. The cruise and itinerary are exceptional. The only one complain i have is a chlorine smell on desk 14 all the time.

Everything about this trip was amazing! The Getaway is great ship. The dinning options are great, the onboard entertainment and amenities are fabulous - there is almost too many options!

The ports were all amazing!

The best part was the staff on the Getaway! They were all amazing! Ernesto, the bartender at the Waves Pool Bar made our trip! William, our room steward went out of his way to make sure we had a great trip!

I would HIGHLY recommend this trip to anyone.

 it's a nice ship, plenty to do and friendly crew. The ship is large, we kept losing each other during the day,but what a nice place to be lost.Dueling pianos was fun, they are very talented. Shows were fast moving, very entertaining, there is a lot of dedication there.We didn't go to specialty restaurants, a bit expensve.We heard the food was good though.Our grandson and his friend enjoyed the kids activities and insisted on certain times with the group.The drinks were not watered down, yeah!!! Had some good deals at the shops too.

The ship was new, clean and modern.  Cabin very nice with plenty of storage.  Food was good and specialty restaurants were really nice.  We had unlimited dining package so we were able to eat there but if we didn't have the package we would not of eaten at speciality restaurants due to extra cost.  Thought there were too many children on board for our taste.  Thought the Atrium was used for many activities but felt it was way too crowded.  Chairs also very uncomfortable.  Ship lacked interesting activities for older adults.

Getaway was a great ship with a great crew. Excellent entertainment, many interesting activities, super food, excellent specialty restaurants, and OK ports.  

Everything was great.  my only downside was the smoking areas. they are in bad areas. need to vacuum seal them off like they do in the airports.  staff, pool, shows, all awesome! 

This was our second cruise on the "Getaway"(the other was in March of 2015) and we just booked another for May 2016...we like the ship, we like the crew, we like the food, we like the entertainment, we like the accommodations and we have Fun on Board the ship.

This is the largest ship we ever sailed on and have done about 10 cruises.

Reading some of the negative reviews prior to sailing made us nervous, but  unnecessarily. Check-in was a breeze, no long bar lines, and even though the days at sea the pool area was crowded you could still find a seat and plenty of room in the pool. We had a balcony room and it was perfect. This was our first time to Great Stirrup Cay and although the weather could have been nicer it is a great location. We bought the 3 dinner package and thought the food was great. The shows were okay and we really liked the music played around the ship. Our favorite was Howl at the Moon. My only complaint about the ship is the adult pool area and the placement hot tubs kind of block the views of the stage for the music and games. Booking through Vacation Outlet was easy and will use them again.

We had a great time on our cruise. We loved the free style cruising because we weren't tied down to dinner at a certain time. There were restaurants opened all night long so if we wanted to catch a show and eat a late dinner we were able to. The food was delicious and plenty of choices! We also loved the fact that we were able to dress casual if we wanted.  We will definitely be cruising Norweigan again!

We enjoyed our cruise and service for the most part.  The bar service in the sitting area was very poor.  I personally do not like the large ship.  Also not happy with not having any Lobster.  The ship was clean and everything went smoothly from boarding to leaving and all inbetween.  Our rooms were well serviced.

We had a great time on our cruise. This is a fabulous boat that is very clean and had very good food even in the free restaurants. We especially enjoyed the free drink package.

When we got to Miami, the port was kind of messy, Not As nice as Seattle's port. You are packed like going through a amusement line to check in. After check in even if you don't want a I picture they make you go through the line anyhow and then walk around it.

When you get on the ship you have so many people trying to get to their rooms also, so what we did was just 1st eat one of the complimentary restaurants. Now the difference between this cruise and our last cruise on Princess, was that princess gave u a set time and it wasn't as crowded.  

The other things was that Norwegian cruises crew's didn't seem as friendly as Princess.  They also seemed to push you more on places to shop like they were getting a kick back.  

Like I said before, the excursions were great..

Overall, I wouldnt sail Norwegian again, crew was not as sociable, and when they did say something I,eyou ask for something to its like they were botheredd to get you anything.

This was my first time on such a huge ship. Too many people for my comfort. The entertainment was good and the food was some of the best I've had on board with Norwegian. Next time I'll do something smaller and go somewhere cooler.

Everything was very good, had a problem with noise the first night and they gave us another room a little smaller but very nice

The ship is big, good food, service is friendly, needs more with entertainment. Many bars but that's not for family. Enough kids activities though. Big casino. Many be adding more family activities as movies during the late night can not have good audio effect since many bars around making noise, should have movies run in the big theater instead of in Atrium.  

We had a great time on the Getaway.  This was our second cruise on the ship in last 1.5 years.  Great time   Staff on the cruise was very professional and friendly.  Fool selections were great.  Really enjoyed dinner in the Italian Specialty Restaurant.  Great time for relaxation.

In addition I really enjoyed the balance of time at sea and stops.  Gave chance to explore while at the same time relax.

Great experience

We love NCL! The ship is fantastic! Food was not as good as last year same ship! The cruise line has the areas for the teens and the little ones which is great but with so many parents traveling with children they need to designate one main dining room adults only and the speciality dining rooms need an age restriction. The noise volume has gotten so loud you are unable to enjoy your meal.  NCL has really dropped the ball here. This was our fifth year on NCL and it was not pleasant with all the children and infants. Shame on you!
