First, the cruise ship: Food was very good in the complementary restaurants. The upscale restaurants offered fine dining that was also very good. The Brazilian restaurant was excellent. You must have the lobster bisque which was overflowing with lobster.

Ports of Call: Typical Caribbean ports with shops and bars. Beware of Cozemel. Stick to the stores recommended by the cruise line. One sore wanted $3,600 for a neckless. By the time we left, they were down to $200.

All the ports excursions at ship apps are excellent frim Honduras to Cozumel, 3 thumbs up . Thank you again Ian Collazo for helping us plan our yearly vacation.

Never sailed on the Getaway and i finally got the chance...I love everything about the ship. The unlimited Beverage and special dining package was awesome. Definitely loved the Ice bar at 14 below inside the bar it was a experience I'll never forget. The staff was wonderful and the cleanliness of the ship was awesome. Definitely looking forward to sailing with Norwegian in the future...

The dining options were great. Ithe was probably the cleanest ship I've been on. The ports were great. The food in the Garden Cafe was sometimes usually only luke warm. The entertainment was good. The room was nice.

Booking the cruise and excursions through was wonderful and Mitchell was always available for questions.  I will book with him in the future!  The cruise was great (amenities, floor plan, activities, meals at the general dining areas and at the specialty restaurants, beverage package was exceptional) so all 7 of us enjoyed our trip.  The only downside was it felt we were faced with extra charges everywhere!  In the general dining room, several entries had a upcharge for "better" meals (really?), bingo and deal or no deal games were expensive, drink taxes while in port in Miami (even with the beverage package)....I don't mind the service charge for the stateroom attendant and others, but it was forced on us.  I wanted to adjust the rate since I left cash, but was not allowed to on ship.  A refund request had to be processed upon return.  I really did NOT like it being "required" considering the price of the cruise.  All NCL info stated I could adjust it if desired, but no where did it say I had to "apply" for an adjustment.  The stateroom personnel & others work hard and deserve tips, but don't make it difficult to leave them cash instead of charging my credit card.  p.s.  This was the cleanest cruise I've ever experienced!

For me,  the dolphin encounter was the best part of my cruise.  Everyone on the Getaway was professional and fun to be around.  The pool could be a little bigger but it did the job.

 This was our second time on the NCL Getaway.  Really love this ship.  So much to do and so many restaurants to choose from.  Definitely need to book your restaurants ahead of time, or first day on the ship, because the good times fill up fast.  I think people book all the good times and never show up because only time we could go to the Cagney's steak house was at 5:45pm and when we got there, we saw plenty of empty tables.  I suggest if you can't get the time you want, just walk up to the hostess and there will probably be tables.  Love the Cagney's steak house, and the Teppanaki Japanese restaurant.  Also loved the noodle bar.  Definitely go there.  Items are alacarte and cheap.  Delicious.  One great feature about the NCL Getaway is the Garden Café, on deck 15, for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  They have it figure out.  No lines anywhere.  Other ships should check this deck out.  You can walk around both sides and you don't have those long lines you have on Carnival or Royal Caribbean.  Love it.  And so many choices.  One complaint I have about the Getaway is you can never get in the comedy club.  You have to book that ahead of time too.  Always full.  I enjoy the late night comedy clubs on all ships, but you can't get into this one.  Stupid.  and room is too small.  I think people book ahead for this one too and don't show up.  You can't beat the Carnival George Lopez Comedy Club.  Big room for everyone.  Great show.  The Staterooms on this ship are plenty big.  Only complaint about the rooms are they don't have a drawer anywhere to throw all your stuff.  Took away the drawer space for a fridge that they charge you for every item.  gotta make that money I guess.  All and all, the Getaway is a great ship.  Western Caribbean has great ports of call.  Great cruise.

I enjoyed the cruise and all of the activities on the ship for my teens and for the adults.  The cruise directors and activities planners are the best. I did not think the shore excursions were worth the money we paid because most of the time was spent getting to the beach and then you had a limited amount of time to enjoy the beach and the activities there.  

I highly recommend this cruise. The ship is gorgeous, and the crew could not have been any more attentive to your needs. Love the free style cruise. The specialty restaurants were outstanding. My favorite Le Bistro. There are so many onboard activities you have to pick and choose. The ports were beautiful, and the locals were very friendly and welcoming.

Can't say anything negative except the week flew by way to fast.

I recommend Mr. Sanchos all inclusive at Cozumel Mexico.. They were awesome.. The beach was warm and clean. Food was great.

At Club Natale Bay Villas-Roatan Honduras you relax by an outdoor pool or hit the private sand beach where you can enjoy snorkeling.

The staff is AMAZING, extremely friendly, and very accommodating to all of our needs. They took very good care of us.

The Overall experience was satisfactory, however there were a few instances were staff showed little to know knowledge of satisfactory customer service which resulted in a negative experience in the moment. When on vacation the service should be flawless and I didn't observe that during this trip. 

Fun cruise. The Crystal caving in Belize was fun. Boss Underwater made almost everyone who did it nauseated....just an FYI.  Get to the port early and pay the extra money when you board the ship to book a lounge chair or cabana at Vibe Beach Club. No Pool there, but 2 hot tubs and a cool down rain showers. NEVER crowded, wonderful attention. It holds 60 people. Most times I never counted over 10. Beats the rat race down by the main hot tubs and pool. Food /service in the main dinning rooms was amazing. I wouldn't waste money on speciality restaurants unless it was a free package. Casino machines were very stingy with $ returns. Don't plan on getting rich. Overall, it was a fun ship with great food and ports. (They could use a new pastry chef...desserts were meh..looked pretty but disappointing in taste)

NO ME GUSTO LA ATENCIÓN DEL  PERSONAL A BORDO, ( DE TODAS LAS ÁREAS). CONTADAS UNAS EXCEPCIONES  PARECÍAN SIEMPRE DE MAL GENIO , APURADOS  Y COMO QUE LES MOLESTARA TENER QUE ESTAR EN ESE TRABAJO. EN LOS OTROS RESTAURANTES  LA ATENCIÓN FUE BASTANTE DEFICIENTE.

I DO NOT LIKE THE ATTENTION OF STAFF ON BOARD (all areas). COUNTED ALWAYS A FEW EXCEPTIONS SEEMED tempered, hard-pressed AND HOW THAT THEY HAVE TO BE IN bothered that work. AND HAVE A QUESTION THAT EVEN IF ONE ANSWER COULD NOT UNDERSTAND BY LANGUAGE really do not matter.

Highlighted the attention given LATTER-DAY IN THE RESTAURANT Tropicana, really they made us feel SPECIAL.

IN OTHER RESTAURANTS attention was quite poor.

do many restaurants! Varied entertainment. Great art auction! Great itinerary. We had s mini suite and the shower was huge. Beds were great  itinerary was definitely repeatable 

second time on this ship and it was even better. This perfect for a beach themed vacation. Or you can stay on the ship and appreciate all she offers. Programing was excellent. especially the musical styling of groove international and Latin express.  Both were perticually impressive. The crew when above and beyond and miles everywhere people genually happy.

I like Carnival, my wife likes Royal Caribbean, but we both LOVE Norwegian. The food, the service, the cabin, the entertainment, and Costa Maya was simply beautiful. I have only 2 complaints about Norwegian. One is strictly Norwegian and the other is Cruise Industry specific. The Ilusionarium (Magic Show) should have been complimentary. If the cruise industry continues to nickel and dime costumers, cruising may lose it's value(although I still prefer cruising over destination vacations).  The second, choose a balcony cabin on the port side or well away from the Waterfront Bar so as to avoid inhaling second hand smoke 12 cabins above the designated smoking area.  There were about 12 to 15 cabins on deck 9, 10, and 11 that the wind would blows the second hand smoke our way.  However, I think this is a cruise industry issue regarding smoking. Personally, I have been on 15+ cruises and the smoking side has very little passengers while the non-smoking side has to search for space which tells me there are far more non-smokers than smokers.  The Cruise Industry needs to react as such.  Anyway, this review is about the Norwegian Getaway, I will cruise the Getaway and Norwegian again. Does that tell you anything? The waterfront (deck 8) is the perfect covered area all around the ship that allows ocean breezes and ocean views on sea days. This is the perfect place to read, sleep or do absolutely nothing if you don't want to take in the sun.  The open deck is perfect for sun bathers but there is a major problem with towel/chair saving of chairs. The saving of chairs happens on other cruise lines as well but this ship seemed to have a greater problem with this. I love to cruise, I loved this ship, and I love Norwegian Freestyle.

We loved the ship so much but be aware of the crazy heat in July!! We thought we knew but WOW!  We had an aft balcony but really couldn't use during the daytime.

Comedians were great.  Howl at the Moon was fun.  Food at taste was really great!  We also loved Teppanyaki, moderno and Cagney's  all great!  My family loved the illusionarium too.  Loved the Waterfront!  Book now!! 

Wonderfull crise.. It was an amazing experience. Great room, awesome attractions, very friendly staff and we are already looking for our next experience with Norwegian cruise lines...
