Review summary

I was traveling with two elderly women in their 80s. They did not want to fly to Florida, so I went on Norwegian for the first time out of New York City. It was a big disappointment and a mistake. New York City is not a friendly town. I am comparing NCL to two other cruise lines, and eight cruises. Sorry NCL never again.

The restaurants were beautiful the help was very friendly, but I felt they were a little understaffed.

Onboard Activities

The casino and the cigar lounge are the places to hang out every time I try to do the ropes course it was closed or reserved for a special occasion. The pools were small and overcrowded, everybody was in the pool, and on the pool deck, because two of our stops were canceled due to lack of proper equipment and people that can handle the tender job.

The performers were excellent, and the venues were nice.

Everybody was very friendly and helpful, but they seem to be understaffed. I do not like giving mandatory gratuities to people that I never see.

I feel the design was confusing, and not easy to get around. The cleanliness was perfect.

The cabin was very nice and what I expected it to be.

Ship tip

Don’t go on the getaway or it’s sistership go for one of the newer NCL ships.

God forbid you need an Uber. You have to take a suicide walk with your luggage across the street. As soon as you walk out of the terminal, you will be bombarded by taxi cab gypsies.

Nothing is perfect, things have changed people are overwhelmed the staff are very nice and a lot of them have their first contract. We are going on Liberty of the Season August and I know we're going to have a great time as we did on this past sailing it's and it's how you make your vacation.

My husband and I close with Norwegian Cruise Line a lot and why shouldn't I take the getaway or any other ship that they have. We had a good time on the getaway. Not everything is 100%.

I was on that sailing March 18th to March 26th. And why do you say that people from Manhattan are not friendly? He didn't cross out the corner that it's not going to be easy to cross the middle of the street in Manhattan or anywhere. The Taxi Limousine cab drivers not Gypsy cab drivers they work for the Taxi Limousine Service
