Will not book NCL again. To many fees, pool to small
Embarkation

We had paid for priority boarding and it went very smooth. Although, many people just cut in line and staff didn’t stop it.

Food and Dining

Food was decent. Not enough variety for breakfast buffet. Was the same every single day. This was our 3rd cruise and we’ve had better food.

Ship tip
Make sure to have plenty of money on your ship card. NCL has lots of “fees”. And if you smoke, don’t expect to sit in the very small smoking area and relax. All you will get is a bunch of rude and loud drunk people. Passing out, falling, puking. The pool area is very small and the bar staff does not walk around for your drinks so lines are super long. Get 2 or 3 at a time!
Spent the day (well, a few hours done we were only in port until 2) at YaYa beach club. All inclusive. Beach area is small but Sergio was the best! Made sure we had drinks and food at all times! Even walked with my husband to an atm down the road! The beach side massage is a MUST! Lots and lots of pushy vendors though, which was very annoying!
Very expensive! Your drink package can not be used here so bring cash! We ended up having to tender to island. The trip over was on a catamaran, but the trip back was in a dingy and it was miserable! 200 plus people in an enclosed area with no air! One lady almost passed out! NCL needs new options for this.
This was our favorite! Honduras is beautiful! We did the zip line and beach excursion through shore excursioner! Much cheaper and the best experience! You go to west bay beach after zip line!
I agree with the small pool 100% fees i literally had 0$ with the free at sea they get you for a surcharge wich is a scam i have to say when you tip you never wait for your drinks we were getting ice buckets by the pool with beer finally as far as the smoking hopefully they cam eliminate that problem and ban it completely because i am sitting at the bar not puking but choking from the smoke
I prefer to have a lower base cost and then pay to customize the experience I want versus a larger base price and not using most of what they bundled into the higher price. Think cable TV vs streaming services.
The extra fees are there for you if you want tnem. No one is making you pay. Your cruise includes your cabin, food at any free venues, shows and certain beverages. Alcoholic drinks, sodas, specialty coffees, excursions, tipping, specialty restaurants, etc. all cost and are charged by most cruise lines. It's your decision.
I don't quite get "too many extra fees" part. You know what's covered by your ticket. You extra, you pay. Every cruise line has that. As far as fewer servers at bars and by the pool, it's a new trend of cutting expenses. I noticed that on acouple of my last cruises, including the Getaway. It took close to 40 minutes between getting the server's attention and getting my card back.
Interesting review. We did a 7 day Alaska cruise on the Bliss and with the Free at Sea Promotion the only thing we shelled out for lazer tag and that was covered under our OBC. We are doing the Getaway in January so we will see. But NCL has always been the cheapest for us.
