Overall we absolutely loved cruising with Norwegian Cruise Line and we will absolutely be doing it again. We could not have asked for better especially for first time. Reasonable price good destinations great service huge thumbs up from both of us
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Considering it was our first time cruising it was actually fairly smooth it wasn''t the quickest but it wasn''t PDS overwhelming nor did it take as long as we thought it was going to.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
How are drinking and dining experiences or wonderful for the most part we only had one bad experience and it was quickly and astoundingly handled we could not have asked better.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
There was plenty of different activities to be done on the Norwegian Getaway. However unfortunately we did not get to do some of the ones we would have liked. Overall we would definitely write this quite high as there was plenty of slides but put rock climbing Etc to do.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
This was a back-and-forth We Care point of our cruise for my wife and I. Some of the things that we saw we''re quite good and others purchased okay or not quite up to what we would have liked to see or just missing overall. Thanks we really enjoyed, we really enjoyed the magic comedy show that we watched we really enjoyed the Thomas Kinkade presentation and we really enjoyed one of The Pianist along with a music group Latin Express. The comedians that they had that work there specifically for stand up or subpar and we wish they would have been a little better. Mind you we were not expecting big name but they still seem to not quite live up to the standards that the rest of the ship was showing. And we both thought that in terms of shows and presentations it could have used at least one presentation of the history and culture of the areas we were going to visit either in one Big Show or split up into Morning Show what presentation of the court that we would be at the following day. This would not only give something extra to add to the variety of shows but also something for people that enjoy history.
Children's Programs
We didn''t take our child
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
A vast majority of the staff was always outstanding for us we only had one staff member that was not very pleasant to be around and as soon as any of the other staff even so so much just caught the slightest hint of that and the rest of the crew that we were around were astoundingly good at making up for that. A vast majority of the crew was great but you always come across certain ones that are just well above and beyond and ended up being some of our favorite parts of the cruise. We came across five staff members in particular that were not only upbeat it''s fun to be around but remembered our names and called out to us even when we didn''t see them first. We constantly went back to these people or drinks or even just good conversation. We could not have asked for better in this category.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
This was our first cruise so we cannot speak from having experience on many ships however having said that we both found the way out to be fairly easy to pick up after the first couple of days and the maps in the different areas or quite helpful.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Our cabin was great it was a balcony cabin so we had a nice view it didn''t feel overly cramped and it was always clean white probably by the hotel people every single day.
I hope people don't take the three-star rating too hard this is only because we are from the US So while New Orleans was on an interesting we were on vacation and looking for something outside of the norm for us this the average rating.
This could have been due to our particular event that we scheduled which was all day but we really enjoyed our guide and everything we did was a lot of fun particularly the snorkeling.
This was kind of back and forth depending on where you are at in Roatan and what you were doing. The resort that we stay at for the day it was absolutely gorgeous and everybody there was great. However, if you just get off the ship to go shopping obviously because it is under us it was quite a rough neighborhood so to speak however Ramadan also has some of the more unique handmade instead of just tourist items.
Belize was a nice little. Is it had plenty of fun activities however it's one downside for us was that it was a very heavy tourist oriented island this stop is definitely best utilized as a fun activities stop and not has a new destination.
Costa Maya was absolutely awesome although admittedly 90% of our day was seeing the ruins which for me was a blast because I really enjoy that type of History. Our guide was amazing and not only what he shared and how he shared it but he also good things you need to our small group and out of his own pocket. Such as stopping at one of their local Fruit markets and purchasing a couple different things for Russell to try out of his own pocket. Also while we were at the ruins he shared how the chick was were made and showed us where the gum actually came from and what he would do as a child when they got their hands on the plant and could get the gum out themselves and mix it with sugar instead of purchasing Chiclets. The shopping area was huge compared to some of the other ports which was really nice and it had a great variety as well as having flamingos literally arm's length away in a certain spot what's really cool.
I don''t like embarkation we have nothing to compare it to as this was our first cruise but overall it was pretty smooth. We just have to wait longer than when we embarked.
