I was hesitant to cruise on such a large ship but it was rarely a problem. We didn't always get dinner times we wanted but we could manage. There were plenty of activities for all ages. We even found areas that were quiet. We found the staff and crew to be friendly and helpful. Other reviews said the opposite but we didn't see that at all.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
We were on the cruise leaving after a crew member had jumped ship and the ship was delayed getting back to Miami. NCL seemed to try to accomodate but it was still difficult to have so many boarding at the same time instead of their usual staggered boarding.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

The specialty restaurant meals were very good. We weren't as pleased with the main dining room as on past cruises. We rarely had to wait for drinks. Good bar service.
Onboard Activities

Grandchildren enjoyed the waterslides and ropes course. Half of ropes course was closed so some didn't get to "walk the plank".

Ship tip
Make show and specialty dinner reservations as far ahead as possible.
When our departure was delayed, we went to a hotel and had lunch. After cruise we had a late flight out of Miami so I got a day room at The Confidante on the beach.
This was our third time here and the best excursion so far. It included the animal sanctuary where we interacted with monkeys and birds and ended at Bananarama Beach Resort --a beautiful spot.
I know NCL has stopped doing the once per cruise chocolate buffet but did they have any similar chocolate desert night on getaway? I used to love the chocolate buffet!!
By today's standards it is not really that big. Royal Caribbean has about 15 ships as big or bigger and more in pipeline. One day that might even seen small way things are going
