Review summary

This was our first cruise and the Getaway did not disappoint!

Embarkation

Got to the port early and were one of the first few through security and we first at the check-in desk. We received Group 1 boarding, waited about 35-40 minutes before the called us to board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Ate at three specialty restaurants: La Cucina, Ocean Blue & Moderno. All were good, but our favorite was Moderno with Ocean Blue close behind. All the main dining rooms were nice as well. Great atmosphere in the Tropicana Room with live music and dancing for patrons. Taste and Savor also provide an nice atmosphere. Shanghai's is good as well. O'Sheehan's is nice since it serves 24 hours. We ate most of our breakfast meals and a handful of lunches at the Garden Cafe buffet. There is a pretty large variety of choices at the buffet. Overall, there is a variety of good food all over the ship.

Onboard Activities

My wife enjoyed her massage in the Spa. We purchased a Spa pass for the week and took advantage of relaxing there a few times. Not sure I would purchase the Spa pass again. We just didn't use it as much as we thought we might. We did enjoy taking in some putt-putt on our final night.
