Review summary

Below average boat. The room staff was excellent and tipped accordingly.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Our shuttle driver pulled away from the dock with our garment bag but we flagged down another shuttle and they radioed the driver to circle back. This rest of embarkation was good.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The Garden buffet was alright for breakfast but that's all. Their lunch and dinner fare was underwhelming. Taste and Savor was a bit better but the decor was dark and uninviting. Our best meal was an extra cost dinner show Cirque Dreams with filet mignon. The Tropicana Restaurant should not be missed.

Good: Million Dollar Quartet, Howl at the Moon Dueling Pianos, Cirque Dreams, Battle of the Sexes Bad: Comedians, Pyramid Show, Manny the lounge singer

Dualing Pianos excellent .

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
We wasted almost 4 hours fighting with customer service over erroneous charges and trying to find the correct staff to fix our bill. We wasted another 2 hours chasing a fake statement by NCL claiming our credit card was shut off. Our card company was called and said that is not true. NCL management tried our card again after hanging up and apologized for the long inconvenience. Beware of the customer service desk. It is right next to the Atrium and is so loud you will need to yell and lean in to converse with the service rep. Many people were complaining about the poor space design.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Customer service right next to the loudest interior venue? Shame on you NCL! TERRIBLE DESIGN! One tiny pool and a few hot tubs for around 4000 guests? Are you kidding? I was able to squeeze into a hot tub just once while the ship was in port.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Mattress was so-so but the room was clean and generous in space.

Ship tip

This ship has a few good entertaining shows and a strong mix of upcharge restaurants. The casino smoke is pervasive on decks 6 and 7. The Atrium and customer service area are a noisy mess. There are not enough pools or hot tubs. There is not enough shade devices/area on the lido deck. The adults only area is sunburn city.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
Get outside the tourist trap area. Our best trip was with locals to the Mayan ruins.

Harvest Caye, Belize

3 out of 5
Good beach day but you'll be charged for everything extra there. The food and drinks on the boat you already paid for are just over a quarter mile walk to access.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

4 out of 5
Beauty and poverty collide on this rapidly growing island.

Cozumel, Mexico

2 out of 5
Too built up. Tourist trap with constant nagging vendors on every storefront.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Forced all passengers to march through the disgusting smoking casino areas twice before release.
