Review summary

The ship was overcrowded and the food was bad, really bad. It was a feeding station for gladiators: carbs and fat. Oh, they had close to a hundred varieties of chicken. The cruise itself? The captain should loose his license. We missed Punta del Gado suposley due to the bad weather. "It's not my fault" insisted the captain but next stop - Brest - he forgot about about the low tides. So, it took almost three hours to disembark on a thin (emergency) bridge. Same with embarkation: people in wheel chairs being pushed by four or even six crew members up the the bridge. Not captains fault? Southampton... over two hours to disembark. This time is it the fault of the customs or captain's miscommunication? Missed another port Bruge... Why? Only God knows. VERY old movies and shows onTV in your stateroom, the paid internet malfunctions and you just loose your money. In short, forget NCL and pick some other line.

Some folks don't seem to realise that this TA on the Getaway was so obviously a disastrous trip. We're so glad we were on the Jade... Katzasa's isn't a post about moaning it's a post about what plainly was a ruined trip by virtue of weather and mechanical problems.

That seems to be on most cruises. I believe thats why they took away the trays because people had a better chance to load up and waste food!

I'm with you, just back of the Independence of the seas 2 week jolly around the med, staff and ship amazing, clientele not so good but meal times, my god you would think they had never been fed, sheer gluttony !!!!

I guess it's Katzasa first time to cruise . If you read the terms and condition for all the cruise line , they clearly indicated that the itinerary is subject to change due to unforeseeable reason .

Some people will complain about anything. Cruising is what YOU make of it. If you expect to make every port and weather or something else prevents it, there isnt much you can do. Sit back, relax, enjoy the time away and remember you dont have to cook or anything.

Sorry you felt that way. My experience cruising on the Getaway was 5 stars! One of the BEST ships I've ever sailed, and it was my 9th cruise ship! We raved about it so much to our family that they are joining us next January on the Getaway! Perhaps a Caribbean cruise is a better experience, with less reasons to cancel port stops, because a captain will only cancel a port stop when the conditions are not favorable to stop there. It is not his fault, as you seem to imply. He has to keep the safety of the passengers and the ship as his main focus, not to ruin your vacation. As for the food, I couldn't stop praising all the wonderful choices to my family. I cannot wait to sail her again!
