Review summary

Good overall cruise. But disembarkation took 2 hours 15 minutes! Outrageous!

Not sure I will take NCL again! They need to improve check in and check out process. This was the worst experience of any cruise I have taken.

Holland America is so much smoother.

Dusty2806---Do not fear! I sailed the Getaway in January and it was the BEST cruise I ever took! And I've been on many! We loved it so much, we rebooked the same ship for next January to share with family. The above post mentioned that it took them over 2 hours to disembark. Well, that could be true in some cases. I witnessed the group trying to leave by self assist--carrying their own luggage off. They were all hanging in the hallway waiting for the word to leave, and really quite congested. I tried to get through the crowd to get to the bathroom, as I was in the theater with my group of post cruise excursion passengers waiting to leave. I left my luggage out the night before, and left very orderly when given the OK to leave. I do not know how the later groups got off the ship, but I don't think I would try the self assist disembark. The above poster needs to remember that this ship is on average a younger crowd than the average Holland American cruiser, and the ship is bigger with more people than a Holland American ship. There is bound to be more congestion and chaos with disembarking, but I agree that they need some improvement in this area. Other than that, it was a FABULOUS cruise and you will love it!! So much to do, great entertainment, great food--an all around great vacation! Have fun!

We went in last Year and the Escape this year. We were fine. Do not walk your luggage off. It causes to much chaos.
