Review summary

No I will never cruise via NCL ever again.  Service was poor, rooms not cleaned for 4 days, rooms were not available for 4 hours when boarding, waited 2.5 hours in line to exit the ship, cruise cards only worked for drinks 1 day, internet access worked for 1 minute, ship smelling of weed twice on our floor, not enough resources to assist with guest, food was terrible I got sick several times, people were treated differently because they were paying cash for tips, no one really knew what the processes were if you asked 5 people you get 5 different answers, my luggage for both pieces, handles were broken and I requested for them to fix them and they did nothing.  I am requesting a full refund for this cruise for both of my rooms.  Just a terrible experience and it was something I paid for all 6 people to take this cruise and had been looking forward to it for about 6 months for it to turn out to be so bad.

wow ktown1 all happens in one trip ???? look like to funny movie to me but you sale cruises to other cruise line right ???? Because one bad thing ok but to many is hard to believe ,,,room don't clean for 4 days ???? Cruise members cleaned twice a day you room for example

Yes, all these things happened on my cruise ship on Getaway.‚  You may have had a great experience but I did not and there is nothing fishy about any of what I said it happened and I have 5 other witnesses to attest to these issues.‚  For those that may have been on the cruise ship last week, did you know they had a Bacterial Pneumonia on deck 11, did you know there was a thief on the ship scaling balconies and stealing passenger belongings?‚  Pay attention next time and listen.‚  A lot of people think drinking their entire cruise is what makes them happy their entire cruise not everyone drinks the entire cruise from sun up to sun down.‚  Pat attention people.‚  I appreciate all of your feedback.‚ I have been on Celebrity several times and was provided perfect service and loved my cruise from day one.  people greeted you with champagne where was your greeters?

Sometimes people do have a bad experience. With 3000 guests on board i guarantee there are some unhappy people. I myself had a not so great week on the getaway and multiple things caused this so it does happen. I wouldn't give up completely in NCL but I work in the service industry so I comprehend that sometimes it's not perfect. But ncl should never ignore the complainers, as that is just not good business and frustrates people more.

Going in the getaway for the 4th time next month. This is our 18th NCL cruise and we have enjoyed every one. Go through the NCL cruise consultants if you have questions/issues. They are very helpful. Agree that some are just not happy, that's ok, don't cruise again. We love it!

I was on that ship last March with my daughter and we had a great time. The service was excellent but the first day or two we forgot to flip the clean room light when we left.

Grandmarnnurse we leave on this ship next week. I agree with you how could that many things go bad. I really enjoy your reviews and honesty.. I don't let the negative ones scare me.

So sorry you had a bad experience. I sailed the Getaway and had a COMPLETE OPPOSITES experience! It was the BEST ship I've ever sailed, and I've sailed many! Service was EXCELLENT! My room was spotless and serviced twice a day! I boarded the ship at noon, and rooms were ready between 1-1:30, as expected. My room card worked perfectly at all times for drinks. Food was fabulous! And the buffet was the BEST buffet we have ever had on a cruise! I really have to ask "are you sure you sailed the Getaway???" NCL outdid themselves with this ship! I'm thinking some people just are never happy, and always find the negative in everything. I cannot honestly believe this person sailed the same ship.

How many cruises have you been on? It's normal to not get into your room until late in the day. They are still cleaning rooms when you get on the ship from the 3000 people that just got off that morning..
