Review summary
This was a first time cruise for me. The only other "large" vacation I have to compare it to was an all inclusive at Excellence Playa Mujeres outside Cancun 8 years ago. I will try to be objective and if you read the end of the post you'll know why. I will be happy to answer any questions after I post.
Food: excellent, even on the buffet. Did not eat in any premium restaurants. Flamingo grill is a waste of real estate on this ship. Talked to several people that threw up or got runs from O' Sheehans.
Boat: Mini suite is way to small for 4 people but bathroom was a pleasant surprise and much larger than expected.
Service: Cabin steward was great. Restaurants were great. Service around pools for drinks is a joke. They could easily have 3 times the wait staff.
Pools: A total joke. Intex makes blow up pools that are larger. They should have just set up a lawn sprinkler.
Bedbugs: yes, we found them in our cabin. All Norwegian would do is offer medical attention which we would have had to pay for. They would not even admit it was a bedbug. I have training in this and know they were, but I'm sure NCL trains their staff to not admit to it. They told me that I would be able to call when I got home on 5/9/16 and they would tell me if it was a bedbug or not, but after ridiculous hold times and totally unhelpful corporate and guest relations people, no one will answer me and its 5/12/16. Does anybody really believe they don't have training in this. My luggage and it's contents are wrapped in garbage bags in my garage and NCL which has it's own environmental staff, won't give me an answer. Matter of fact, someone is probably sleeping with them in my old stateroom right now.
Entertainment: Burn The Floor was awesome. Howl at the moon is great if you're drunk which I was. Don't know how'd it be sober. The bands we saw on deck and in Tropicana should be playing at the Hilton lounge not on a cruise ship with 4000 passengers.
Teen club: my 15yo liked it.
The Atrium: failed concept. What idiot shows a movie in an atrium while music is blasting from the bar in the atrium? You can barely hear yourself think there and it is where guest relations is so good luck. Maybe they don't want other passengers to be able to hear you complain about bedbugs?

I did do those things to protect myself, when I got home. Did you ask me? No, you assumed I didn't. BTW, rubbing alcohol DOES not work so don't give people bad info.
Why does everybody keep using the words infested and infestation? I never said either.
Why would I take my things to a laundry mat? If there are more bed bugs, I could pass them to someone else. What is wrong with you?
I also never used the word expert, you did. Do you people actually read the things you're commenting on?

Ignore the people with Cruise Critic comments. If you go there and post anything negative about your cruise experience they immediately attack. I'm pretty sure they all either work for cruise lines or are internet trolls that are paid by cruise lines.
What I posted on CC and you tube is consistent with what I reported here. I was supposed to get NCL's findings on the insect by 5/9/16 per their promise to me on board. Here it is 5/16/16 and I've heard nothing even though they said they would contact me. I guess somehow them lying to me makes me the bad guy here. I have never insinuated that I am seeking anything from them. If I was resourceful enough to take a bedbug with me on the cruise and fake that I found it in the room, I'm pretty sure I'm resourceful enough to google "bed bugs on Norwegian cruise ship" and see that I shouldn't expect NCL to give a darn about it. I guess I'm just smarter than some of the trolls and they can't think that far ahead.
klcarr. I said waitstaff, not bartenders. The average wait time at the bar itself was about 5 minutes on days when people were off in port and much longer when we were at sea. Point being, I'm paying for premium service, people should bring drinks to me. If I want to go to the bar for drinks, I can do that at home. O'sheehans had no where near the best pub food. Burgers and dogs, fish and chips and some wings. All of which was usually cool, not hot, by the time they took it out of the dumbwaiter and brought it to me. If anyone looks around at other NCL reviews, they will see complaints consistent with mine.
Yes, we got sodas for my kids on our 2 UBP's. As much as NCL nickel and dimes you on their ships, I have no regrets.
