Was OK But Could Have Been Betters

Boarding was a nightmare. The line to enter the registration process was very long and most people were standing in the hot sun for hours. We were given a number of excuses for why the boarding was so delayed and jammed up, but not sure what the truth was. We arrived at 11 am and were allowed onto the ship about 3 pm

Our mini-suite just looked liked a standard balcony room to us. It was fine and large enough for the 2 of us though. The ship is lovely and new so all the interior and exterior venues are very nice. The buffet was always very crowded but the food was good. We ate most dinners in the Tropicana as there was often live music. Enjoyed most of the musicians who were aboard.

Our cabin maid was always rushed and seemed overwhelmed. She was not very friendly and did not follow through on a couple of things

When we cruise we like to find a bar we like and go there for our before dinner cocktail. We had a hard time finding this. We settled on the bar by Tradewinds but the principal bartender was far from friendly. We had a beverage package and he always gave more attention and service to those who were paying and tipping. We are happy to tip extra, but not until we have good service. We did have a wonderful table waitress named Desiree and we gave her an extra tip. We finally quit sitting at the bar and sat a a table instead. At least we got good service then. We did not use the speciality dining venues as we did not feel it worth the additional costs and we had no onboard credits as most everyone else seemed to have.

Wifi at $229 for two weeks would not have been totally ridiculous but when it was so slow to make it not worth trying many times, then that price was way to high!!

That leads to my biggest complaint. After we booked our cruise in early March, NCL kept making better and better offers of complimentary packages. We tried to get those associated with our same rate but to no success. Many of the other cruise lines will NOT notify you after booking of additional offers, but if you find them and call the cruise line they WILL honor them for you too! We would never book ahead again and will never book with NCL.
