We'll be back!

Sail Date: January 17, 2015

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Loved everything about the cruise: our balcony 14 aft room, friendliness of crew and waitstaff;the restaurants, especially the Tropicana supper club with dance floor and entertainment; the interactive tv and screens for booking shows, planning our day and finding our way about the ship. The sports complex with the ropes course and overhang was daunting!  Good Musical groups played everywhere. The Legally Blonde musical was entertaining and Burn the Floor dance troupe was spectacular. Be sure to book reservations for these. We loved Moderno the Brazilian restAurant. Go hungry! You will get as much ultra tender filet mignon, sirloin, sausages, chicken, ribs, lamb chops, shrimp etc as you can eat. Their huge salad bar even has ceviche. This  was well worth the $20.00 per person. We chose a drink package when we made our reservations two days before the cruise. What  a value; Tangueray 10 for Jim's gin and tonics, and a Bahamas mama or Piña Colada for me every afternoon at the Sugarcane Bar on the eighth deck. This package is good for any of the many bars and restaurants on the ship, The waterfront on the eighth deck was a comfortable place to sink into the cushy chairs and couches to read, muse, nap etc. as you enjoy the view at port or at sea. There were other quiet areas on the ship like the library and an adult area to sun yourself on the 16th deck. The cruise director, Jersey boy, Joel Sanchez was astounding! Warm, friendly, dynamic, he seemed to be everywhere, including  the late night  dance parties on the 16th deck!  We didn't like smelling smoke in parts of the casino, although the ship did a pretty good job isolating the other  smoking areas on the ship. We liked the free style of dining and will certainly book more cruises on Norwegian. We will be back!

Ship Quality
Pretty ship, but the atrium could be bigger.
Food and Dining
Everything was fresh and I liked the variety of ethnic foods. there was something for everyone.
Service and Staff
Joel Sanchez, Cruise Director
Entertainment
Burn the Floor was impressive, Legally Blonde very entertaining.Top quality entertainment!
Children's Programs
Even though we didn't have kids with us, we saw their adorable play. These children were obviously having a wonderful time with their clever performance. I will bring my grandchildren when they are a little older.
Onboard Activities
so much to do, so little time! I liked the morning show with Joel and the daily newsletter; good information to plan our day.
Destinations and Excursions
St Thomas's screaming eagle boat was a blast! will definitely do that again. butterfly farm was interesting and we enjoyed the beach by the airport in st Maarten, took a fabulous video of a big JFK plane landing.
Cabin / Stateroom
Very comfortable, quiet, and had room for everything. Thankyou for the small bottle of conditioner. Please mention that there is no bar soap or separate conditioner in the showers. I would have brought some had I known.
Miami, Florida didn't take any tours. We winter in southern fla and are very familiar with Miami, especially South Beach
Philipsburg, St. Maarten butterfly farm was interesting and our bus driver took us all over the place, including the beach by the airport. FUN!
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas The screaming eagle boat ride was a blast!
Nassau, Bahamas
didn't like being swarmed and not very clean, but we loved the ship and enjoyed walking around the other cruise ships and yachts.

Tip

Watch Joel's morning show on the TV and read the daily bulletin so you won't miss anything. Make your reservations for the shows, Legally Blonde, Burn the Floor, or Illusarium. If you eat at Moderno, bring your appetite and go a little easy on the abundant creative salad bar so yo
