Review summary

As retirees, we felt overwhelmed by constant noise in the form of disco music and too loud entertainment.   The few designated quiet spots were not really quiet (except for the library) and our cabin was located above a lounge where the singer and music penetrated our room so loudly that rest was not possible until midnight.  Even the main dining room had live entertainment that echoed so badly that it was hard to hold a conversation without yelling.  I truly believe that OSHA would shut half the ship down for unsafe sound levels.  This was a common complaint from others that we spoke to.

That said, the ship was well built and in new condition.  There were amenities for all ages (other than adults).  In the hands of Disney or Royal Caribbean it would have been very enjoyable.  The embark and debark procedures were the best.  No lines to speak of.  The food service and quality, especially in the specialty restaurants, was mostly above par.  Cigarette smoke was present in some areas but mostly absent.

Other than the noise from below, the amenities were good. One exception is the lack of a power outlet near the bed (for CPAP machines or phone chargers.)

Ship tip

The Italian restaurant stands out. When ordering drinks, specify "well" or specific brands, or else you will get upscaled to higher priced drinks without your consent.

Ports of call

Would have been nicer if shuttles were provided to go to the French side of the island.

Lots of shops. Skip downtown as shops at the port are largely the same. We found shopkeepers to be somewhat aggressive since the shops were largely empty in spite of six plus ships in port.

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Nicest downtown. Pleasant native shop people (low pressure) made shopping more enjoyable. Free shuttle service.
