7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)
Sail Date: November 15, 2014
Ship: Norwegian Getaway
Cabin Type: Balcony
Cabin Number: 10224
Traveled As: Family (young children)

After my first 2 meals on NCL Getaway I spent all
Evening looking for the restrooms. Other relatives
Had the same problem...uncle and nieces. Our uncle brought his own bottled water but we did not. Too many extra charges on the ship and the highest daily fee we ever had on any cruise line.

Food and Dining

food not the standard we expected. You must dine in a specialty restaurant and pay extra cover charge

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

boring...cancelled the musical. had to pay extra for magic show. comedy club not that funny

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
more stuff for kids than other cruise lines we have used

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
a few good waiters but hard to understand their English...very strong accents

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
new ship with good air temp AC and good beds

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Carpet already shedding fur balls and looked dirty. Bed was good and air temp control too extreme

Ship Tip

We liked the outside sitting areas on the 8th deck opromenade with outside bar lounge areas...more live music in those areas would have been nice. Did not learn until 4th day that Do Not Disturb for our room is an electrical switch on the wall up high near the door.
