Friendly staff. Balcony room was worth the upcharge. Had adjoining rooms with my teenagers and loved it.

This was our third time on this ship, seventh Norwegian cruise. Well worth the money spent for a vacation.

The ship was very nice. It was very clean. The ship was also very easy to navigate.

The GEM was very clean, the rooms were always kept neat and orderly. All of the staff from the Captain to the people that worked in the kitchens always had a smile, said hello, and asked if there was anything they could do for us. Just a first class trip all the way.

The Norwegian Gem was a beautiful ship and the staff was extremely courteous and friendly. This cruise we found to be much better than the Norwegian cruise that we took about 10 years ago. The staff was much friendlier and service was excellent.

We had wanted to take a cruise for years--and this was an excellent first-time experience. The food was amazing, the stateroom and common areas were all beautiful and kept immaculate at all times, the staff treated us like friends & family, the shore excursions were fun and educational....what's not to love? I particularly enjoyed the numerous opportunities for on-board activities even though we had no kids along--we walked a mile every morning, used the fitness center, played Bingo, went snorkeling, attended wine tastings, went dancing, sang Karaoke, played the (somewhat embarrassing but highly entertaining) Not-So-Newlywed game--also, the evening shows were spectacular--of the sort we would pay $50 or $75 for at home. If you have any capacity whatsoever for fun, this cruise is right for you. For the less-active types there are also quiet game/card rooms, a spa, and a library--literally something for everyone.

Ship was very smooth and was hard to tell you were on a ship. Last day was a little rocky but not bad. Rooms are wonderul. Hard to navigate finding areas on board.

I loved it. It was beautiful both inside and outside.

I have been on 14 cruises prior to this one. I was never on a Norwegian Cruise Line cruise. I have to say that the Norwegian Gem was beautiful. The ship was clean and the staff was very accomodating and made our cruise wonderful!! On a scale of 1 to 10 this cruise was a 15!! Loved every minute!! Would highly recommend this cruise!!

Not enough Handicap areas for wheel chairs. People just took the signs off the tables on the only 2 handicap tables on the 12th floor and the staff did not make sure that it was open for people that needed it. It should be roped off to the general public.In the theater people were climbing over us to sit in rows that the first three or four seats were marked for handicap .

It was my first time cruising and I loved it. Everyone on the ship was helpful and very nice. Can't wait to go back

The cruise was wonderful, we sailed on the Gem and previously on the Dawn, I thought the Dawn was a nicer ship, both ships were very similar in a lot of ways but I thought the Dawn was nicer

The ship was well designed and the staff were always around willing to help. There were always a variety of activities going on including art shows, bingo, game shows, etc.

The Gem itself was a very nice ship. Kept very well and the staff were all very friendly.

Pool area too small. Shared bAthrooms were always out of toilet paper.

The ship was clean and in good condition. They charge you for everything including water. Charging for drinks when you are gambling in a casino is border line criminal. The change in the itinarey really put a damper on the trip only 4 hours in Universal Studios. The specialty restaurants were terrible except for the Brazilian Steakhouse. After being told that we could were dress shorts to Le Bisto by the reservation desk do to it being slow we were told to go change by the host, when we got inside there were several people with jeans and t-shirts. Cagney's steakhouse was horrendous, waited 45 minutes for a water at the table. Finally this was advertised as a Nickelodeon Cruise which is a complete joke they had some small activities for kids and showed up once a day for arts and crafts for a half hour.
