Review summary

The ship made adequate transportation to the island paradise that is Bermuda. We have been Royal Caribbean customers for a long time and just wanted to see what another cruise line was like. Most of it was similar I do believe that RC's standards for service are higher. I would be willing to try NCL again but maybe on a bigger ship to see if the standards are a little better and maybe the disembarking would be easier if they had more space.

Embarkation

We showed up at our given time and got right on the ship. Super east and smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was adequate. If food is a super important part of your trip you may want to pick something else. A lot of dried out meat. I don't cruise to eat so I found a little bit of this or that and it was okay.

O'Sheehan's Bar & Grill

Food was fine. The service was the worst. The staff all seemed to be angry in the venue. We had a whole meal service where our server did not speak to us other than asking what we wanted. We had to go get our own water. I'm sure it is the worst to work in the 24 hour venue but it's part of the gig and should be done with some professionalism.

Garden Café

The food was adequate buffet food. What made it great was the helpful and cheerful staff

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools were nice. We found places to sit and enjoy the pool deck.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the comedian. We went for the opening night then back for the 18+ show. He was very funny. The game shows at the spinnaker venue were all amusing. The stage shows were fine. The entertainers all worked hard and were talented, maybe just not my type of show. I would have preferred a play or a musical rather than just song and dance. I wish there had been a few more options as well.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward Albert was the best. Always a smile. We enjoyed chatting with him and of course he kept our room sparkling. The staff in the buffet were friendly and helpful. However the other staff around the ship worked hard but seemed so much less hospitable than on my other cruises. No friendly hello or smile as you walk by, I just found it odd.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This is a smaller ship. I think they used the space wisely. If you are looking for a big ship experience this would not work for you. It was clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This cabin is exactly what I expected for an inside cabin. I was happy with the size and the lay out. The bed and the pillows were comfy. The toilet is at an odd angle and would be hard for a very tall person.

Ship tip

Make your own fun. Dont worry about the small stuff. It's nice transportation to the island of your choice.

Ports of call

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

We absolutely adored Bermuda. The people were incredibly friendly and helpful. We rented a kayak & a Boston Whaler from Blue Hole water sports. They were reasonably priced. The guys there were super friendly and informative. They gave us a map so we could go to little isolated beaches and snorkle spots. I highly recommend their company. It is behind the Groto Bay Resort. We did the Crystal Caves which a totally worth seeing. Again the staff there was amazing, so friendly and helpful. We took public transportation every where we went. As soon as we got off the ship we bought a multi day pass. The busses and ferry will get you pretty much where ever you need to go.

Bar Harbor, Maine

The port is quaint. Lots of shopping bars and restaurants. Acadian Nature tours canceled our tour right before it was supposed to start which didn't leave us much time to pivot. So we just wandered around.

Boston, Massachusetts

Boston is beautiful, we had never visited before this trip. We went to Cheers.

Disembarkation

It's was like it was the first time they had ever let people off a ship. It was chaos. I had never seen anything like this, from all the other comments it seems like everyone's experience was similar to mine. Maybe they figure since your leaving anyway they don't have to care. Long long lines with hours of standing. There was so little Information on how it was supposed to work. We tried to ask at the guest service desk the night before and the agent couldn't be bothered. He just said it was on the letter left in your room. So unfriendly...
