For the most part, this was a 50+ cruise of locals from Boston and the N.E. (only a few Texans on this one!). NCL has done an outstanding job in catering to this clientele. Bermuda was a bucket list destination and was unique to everywhere else we have gone so far.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Couldn't have asked for better. Basically just walked on with a short slowdown for security and to get our room keys
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Met, and many occasions, exceeded my expectations. I'd definitely give it an overall 4-star average
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
I won't say anything was bad, as they were definitely average for a mainstream cruise. All met expectations
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The only.theatre show we made was piano man Tom Franek, but it and all others we saw were good
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
All service we received was superior. This ship has a great group of friendly staffers. Never a long wait for wait staff.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
You can tell it's been refreshed and everything looks good. I liked the warm woodtones found throughout the ship. Very tasteful.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
This was my first porthole cabin. Sometimes it felt like a was looking through some freaky surreal lens. We were low and at the front so we heard the expected noise from the waves on the bow. The only negative was an extremely funky bathroom at boarding but the Steward fixed it by "adding some chemicals to the toilet". I always gotta wonder, did you not smell it yourself?
Ship tip
Call it nitpicking if you want, but it really gets in Mrs Jallaway's craw that you have to pay for morning coffee delivery. And l, then they go and exclude Starbucks from all but the coffee and premium plus packages
I'm very glad I went before the cut off. But, this was a case of missed expectations. The town itself wasn't that quaint or interesting. The short time in port precluded going out and seeing the surroundings.
It was slow, often sleepy, island; but it was beeyootiful everywhere we went. Port tip: the private buses take you directly to the Horseshoe Bay entrance. The public bus drops you a good ways off. And...the ferry is the fastest way by far to get to Hamilton
I had that same question a few weeks back. There's a lot we didn't get to see and I'm probably not the best to answer that question. I would definitely recommend you go to Horseshoe Bay beach. Some will say it's overcrowded, but it's a huge beach and theres a lot of room to spread out. If were doing it over again, we'd have taken the paid ferry to Hamilton on day 1 and finished the evening there. The free NCL ferry to St George (which we did after arriving) only has one run on the first day and we had to come back early.
Thanks for sharing a great cruise experience! Many years ago The GEMs Atrium had what looked like Amethyst colored stones suspended from the ceiling showcasing the stairs & it was simply stunning!! She wore her name well & that was the “picture spot”! Bermuda is another gorgeous gem in the middle of the Atlantic. Love your detailed review & glad you got your Bermuda on!! Happy cruising 😎⚓️🤩❣️‼️
Thanks for the review Jailaway! Great you got to experience Bermuda and scratch another off the bucket list. I agree with the Mrs.about that coffee delivery 😉
