Overview,good cruise, not great on food end but a solid Good. Entertainment was ok. Comedian Alex Ortiz very funny.

I have heard numerous complaints and praises about food on Gem so I will give an honest evaluation of the food I ate.
First meal of course on Embarkation day is lunch. So I had a Burger in The Buffet. It was fine.
Dinner we returned to Buffet,and I had Chicken Cacciatore. My wife Ann wanted to go as Prime Rib was featured. I cook for Hobby, Contests, and 1 day a week in the Community Kitchen.The last day I worked there prior to cruise I made 70 lbs of Chicken Cacciatore. The Cacciatore was fair at best. Ann loves Prime Rib but this was not good.
Next Day Breakfast was okay..I had a bagel and sausage links. Sausage was cool side of lukewarm.
Ann had bacon, fruit, bread it was good.
Lunch I had Pizza and it has Improved. Still not Carnival or Royal's Sorrento but improving.
Dinner we went to Le Bistro. Up until this cruise, our Favorite NCL Specialty Restaurant.
We use to love the Bone In Rib Eye for 2 carved table side.Its gone. I love Veal Chops, they are gone. I liked the fruit Fondue w Choc Syrup, it's gone. The kicker however was, the only steak on the menu, in a specialty restaurant,was an Upcharge.

Day 3 Sausage were hot as in cooked temp Bagel Great.
Lunch Chili Dogs poolside were good.
Dinner The Orchid, was just okay.
Choices limited, spring rolls were small size egg rolls.
Day 4, All Good, Dinner at O'Shehans was very good. Only question is why does meal come with no separation all comes together.
Day 5 Cagney's. Now in top spot.
All courses superb. Steak and Prime Rib melted in your mouth according to my wife
Day 6 MDR Pacific. Caeser was very good, Baked Ziti was small but ok. Dessert was very good.
Service Spot On.
Day 7 MDR again. We both had Short Ribs and they were very good.
Day 8, We we're back at O'Shehans. I had Sausage Sliders and could have had 4 more.
Caeser Salad was fine. Dinner was Fish and Chips.
Day 9, La Cucina. Chicken Parm was off menu. Ann had Chicken Cacciatore, and I had Calamari, Antipasto,and Pizza. All good only neg calamari was small
So I will give Food and 80. Front of house did great job so staff gets 90%

Cabin is small on Jewel Class Ships. Bathroom is very small. Been asking to remove glass divider but hasn't happened.
