Review summary

Norwegian Cruise Line does not provide passengers with their bills until they return home from the cruise, then, if there is a dispute, the passenger cannot talk to anyone about the dispute. My wife and I do not drink alcohol. Upon return home I opened the email bill to find charges for alcohol. I used NCL's online customer service form to dispute the charge. After two email exchanges in which we explained we did not drink alcohol, I was sent a "final response" with an unsigned receipt for the alcohol during a meal at the Japanese restaurant onboard. Everybody else at the grill-table were drinking while my wife had a cranberry juice and I had a water. I received no response from my last email asking the charge to be removed. There is no one I can talk to in person concerning this issue. It is not a large amount, but unless NCL repairs this issue, my wife and I will never cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line again.

Charges are readily visible on your room TV, on the app while aboard, and emailed to you at cruise end. You can also request to see your account at any time. Mistakes happen, but you’re ultimately responsible to review your account to make sure they’re correct. No one was trying to maliciously scam you out of money.

Oops 😬

You used to get a paper bill through your door the last night of your cruise, can’t remember if we still got that on our last cruise but the bill was definitely available on our tv and on the app whenever you wanted it. I checked it daily and noticed I’d been charged for a drink in error but they actually removed it themselves before I got a chance to say anything. If you didn’t get a bill and didn’t know about the online bill why didn’t you just go and ask, why wait until you got home!

I've cruised with NCL only twice but in both cases I was well aware of how much I had spent each day. When we cruised with them previously we were able to look at our charges on TV. I would not swear off an entire cruise line based on the price of a couple of mixed drinks I should not have been charged for. Also, since you've taken the step of contacting the merchant directly and they refuse to give you a refund then you simply need to let your bank know that you have unapproved charges and they'll credit your card back until they do their own investigation.

Sorry you had an issue, but I've never had a problem accessing my bill while online. Whether online or by going to Guest services and asking for it.

We learned early in our Cruise life to check our charges daily. When doing so, you can dispute any charges you disagree with on the ship at guest services. Hope that helps.

Odd We were NCL in May and our bill was readily available by using the TV in our cabin. We were able to see each charge every day. Did you even try to view your bill while onboard?

That truly is poor customer service. Thanks for sharing

So most everything on the ship was one star because you were charged a relatively small amount potentially incorrectly?
